Monday Wrap: Aguirre scores twice in McQuaid’s win over World of Inquiry; Churchville-Chili outscores Penfield

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI (7-4-0) 4

Of Churchville-Chili’s 14 shots, four different Saints hit the back of the net to best Penfield by one. Nick Millard set up Jacob Anthony in the 33rd minute for the Saints’ only goal in the first half. After the break, Churchville-Chili scored three goals in less than ten minutes. Starting the offensive onslaught was Marcus Postell, assisted by Caleb Bailey, in the 55th minute. Five minutes later, Mario Cozzo set up Nick Rippe, putting three on the board for the Saints. Cozzo scored unassisted in the 64th minute for his team’s fourth and final goal of the night.

GREECE ARCADIA (5-4-0) 7

Aidan Lewandowski, Camden Englert, Ashraf Bonseu, Jose Santiago-Diaz, Sujan Gurung, Elvir Odzakovic and Khan Smith scored for the Titans. Gabe Taylor and Matt McDermott combined for the shutout. The win was the third in Arcadia’s last four games.

GREECE OLYMPIA (4-4-1) 7

Jacob Landro netted a hat trick and added two assists to lead Olympia. Andrew Balch added a pair of goals. Christoph Kurzbauer and Ali Alsaidi chipped in a goal and an assist apiece. Dennis Banahene and Kevin Honan both had an assist.

WILSON MAGNET (2-6-1) 2
EAST (6-4-0) 3

Ben Ali Mfaume scored twice for East in the tight battle with Wilson Magnet. Mfaume, assisted by Yohana Mpenzi, and Glodi Mata, assisted by Johnathon Ceysaire, each netted one in the first half and East went into the break with a 2-1 lead. Mfaume’s unassisted goal in the second half became a crucial one as Wilson Magnet inched closer. However, East’s defense held on to secure the victory. Ali Osman led Wilson Magnet’s offense with an assist and a goal. Saroj Rai scored the squad’s first goal of the night.

SCHOOL #58/WORLD OF INQUIRY (6-2-1) 2
MCQUAID (7-1-1) 4

McQuaid’s Elliot Aguirre scored in the 25th minute and again in the 82nd minute, boosting the Knights’ to their fourth win in their last five games. The sophomore now leads his squad with six goals on the season so far. Assisting him in his first goal was Andrew O’Hern, and in his second was Matt Gallina. In between Aquirre’s two goals, Justin Larry and Wilson Brauer found the back of the net. Brennan Shanahan and Brad Talsania assisted those goals, respectively.

PERRY (6-4-0) 5

Tyler Uvieno scored a goal and added two assists during the first half when Perry jumped to a 4-nil lead and went on to win its sixth straight game. Carson DeVinney and Dennis VanDuser added a goal and an assist apiece. Michael John Grover started the scoring.

LIMA CHRISTIAN (3-6-0) 0

Ryan Morgan scored in the 22nd minute with an assist from Joey Pagano and Mount Morris snapped a four-game skid.

LIVONIA (7-2-2) 4
NORTH ROSE-WOLCOTT (2-8-1) 0

Three different players found back of the net in the first half, and the Bulldogs went on to win their fourth straight and stay undefeated the past eight games. Ewan Maxwell opened the scoring in the 20th minute. Jackson McEnerney and Jonathan followed with tallies before the half. Jake Olver assisted on all three markers. Shane Melead added an unassisted goal in the second half.

GANANDA (4-5-0) 3

Gananda’s Ayden Neal scored a pair of goals with Andrew Gabbard collecting assists on both. Dylan Dohse added a tally with help from Sergio Lopez.

CANISTEO-GREENWOOD (7-4-0) 7
CUBA-RUSHFORD (3-8-0) 4

Jose Alvarez and Corey Barker finished with a hat trick apiece while Dawson Jackson added a goal and four assists to lead Canisteo-Greenwood.

BRYON-BERGEN/ELBA (8-1-2) 4
Sam Pringle scored twice and Kyle Foeller had three assists for Byron-Bergen/Elba which jumped to a 3-nil halftime lead. Greyson Huntington found the back of the net five minutes into the match with an assist from Alex Heatherman. Gianni Ferrara doubled the lead in the 32nd minute, and Pringle connected on his first goal four minutes later. Pringle added a second-half marker.
