Pittsford Mendon alum Max Troiani garnered 2019 Cape Cod All-League honors as announced earlier this month.
Troiani finished third in the CCBL hitting .345. In 41 games, he drove in 19 runs and scored another 17. His on-base percentage (OBP) of .427 was good for fourth in the league.
Originally signed to a temporary contract with the Orleans Firebirds, Troiani collected five hits in his first nine at-bats of the summer. He had five multi-hit games before the end of June and earned himself a spot in the Cape Cod League All-Star Game where he drove in a run with a single.
This past spring, Troiani (now a senior) earned NCBWA National Player of the Week when he homered five times in three games for the Bentley Falcons of the NCAA Division II Northeast-10. Troiani finished the week hitting 7-for-13 with eight RBI and five runs scored. He had 23 total bases.
Troiani was named to second team All-State his senior year at Mendon. A two-time All-County performer, he earned Monroe County Division II Player of the Year in 2016.
Last summer, he hit .457 in 17 games with the Lake Monsters of the Interstate Collegiate Baseball League.
Cape Cod League alums Pete Alonso, Charlie Blackmon and Shane Bieber played in the 2019 MLB All-Star Game.
