BRIGHTON BARONS (Class A1)

Last season: 17-5, lost in NYS semifinals, Class A champions.

Coach: Adam Hiller (93-47-13/ninth season).

Top returners: Mat Ochs (Sr. MF), Theo Viggiani-Cole (Sr. D), Lyosha Georas (Sr. MF), Torin Broderick (Sr. MF), Nico Leone (Sr. MF), Luke Charlesworth (Sr. D).

Top newcomers: Kamer Lenio (Jr. D), Robbie Daly (Jr. D), Will Kelly (So. MF), Cal Oberst (So. GK).

Next game: Tuesday, September 3rd vs. Victor. (Current record 1-0).

Outlook: Coming off of a championship season, the Barons will work to replace a core group of top performers from the 2018 season. Will the returners’ successes fuel them to lead their squad to another title?

BROCKPORT BLUE DEVILS (Class A1)

Last season: 3-13-1, lost to Spencerport in first round of Class A.

Coach: Jeff Phillips (3-13-1/second season).

Top returners: Tyler Daly (Sr. MF – Third year on varsity), Nick VanWie (Sr. MF), Sean Keenan (Sr. F).

Next game: Tuesday, September 3rd at Aquinas. (Current record 0-1).

Outlook: The Blue Devils have 11 seniors on the roster. After a 3-13-1 season, can the 11 seniors lead them to a comeback season?

GREECE ARCADIA TITANS (Class A1)

Last season: 9-5-3, lost to Irondequoit in first round of Class A sectionals.

Coach: Matt Vergamini (65-22/16th season).

Top returners: Cooper LaValley (Sr. MF – Second Team All-County, Section V All-Tournament Team member), Camden Englert (Sr. F), Aiden Lewandowski (So. MF), Adam Hurlbutt (Jr. D), Lorenzo Ramos-Chavez (So. D), Jared Hinchcliffe (So. D), Taber Monks (Sr. GK/F), Dino Begovic (Jr. MF), Adam Strand (Jr. D).

Top newcomers: Landon Schreib (Jr. MF), Josh Price (Jr. MF), Gabe Taylor (So. GK), Mike Pink (Jr. D), Ashraf Bonseu (Jr. F), Elvir Odzakovic (Fr. D/M).

First game: Thursday, Sept. 5 vs. Brighton.

Outlook: A tough Division III lineup will challenge the young Arcadia squad from the beginning. The offense has a big hole to fill as they graduated the program’s leading scorer Tyler Lewandowski in June. Can the seniors lead a promising group of newcomers to finish with another winning season?

GREECE ATHENA TROJANS (Class A1)

Last season: 9-5-3, lost 2-1 to Spencerport in Class A quarterfinals.

Coach: Mike Butler (65-29-7).

Top returners: Dylan Rice (Jr. MF – Three-year First Team All-County member), Othman Behlsiene (Sr. Striker – Two time First Team All-County), Zack Smith (Sr. GK), Jared Burns (Jr. GK), Michael Tracey (Jr. MF), Gavin Rice (So. MF), Brian Piendel (Jr. Striker), Joe Elia (Sr. MF), Ryan Fitzgerald (Jr. MF), Mark Maio (Jr. D), Michael Loiacono (Sr. D).

Top newcomers: Nathan Masucci (Jr. MF), Brennan Schmitt (So. D).

First game: Tuesday, September 3rd at Spencerport.

Outlook: With four seniors and six experienced juniors returning, can the 2018 Class A No. 1 seed return to the top in 2019?

PITTSFORD MENDON VIKINGS (Class A2)

Last season: 9-9, lost to Churchville-Chili in the Class A quarterfinals.

Coach: Mark Hurley (197-77-34/17th season).

Top returners: Pierce VanBenThuysen (Sr. F), Jay Barkstrom (Sr. D), Jerry Anandarajah (Jr. D), Dom Tabechian (Jr. D), Tommy DeBiase (Sr. MF), Ty Wilkes (Sr. MF).

Top newcomers: HaJoon Lee (Jr. MF), Arjun Bains (Jr. F).

Outlook: With six key players returning, will Mendon peak at the end of the season and go on a run?

PITTSFORD SUTHERLAND KNIGHTS (Class A2)

Last season: 11-6-1, lost in the Class A quarterfinals to Brighton.

Coach: Sean Hopkins (63-39-13/7th season).

Top returners: Will Bowen (Sr. Attack – 11 goals and six assists last season), Dylan Kladstrup (Jr. MF – eight goals and 12 assists last season), Drew Kull (So. D), Aidan Pellegrino (Sr. D), Chris Andolina (Sr. MF), Connor Maedl (Sr. MF).

Top newcomers: Jack Leahy (Jr. MF), Henry Leahy (So. MF), David Adeleke-Adedoyin (So. D), Eric Wang (Jr. Attack).

Next game: Wednesday September 7th vs. Brockport. (Current record 1-0).

Outlook: The Knights return a number of players from last year’s winning team, while adding a group of younger players who had a lot of success at the JV level. With the combination of the two, can the Knights put up another winning record and make a longer run in sectionals?
