Povlock had more runners to deal with throughout the contest, allowing three hits and four walks over his seven frames. He also put up big strikeout numbers, racking up nine on the day. In addition to the seven runners allowed, his defense made two errors behind him. The Monarchs’ error in the sixth inning, their second of the game, would be the one that ultimately cost them.
With two outs and Justin LoTemple (Alfred State) on first base after a single, Anthony Mashewske (Keuka) reached on an error. The next batter, Hayden Ewell (Southern New Hampshire), drove in LoTemple while Mashewske scored with Jorge Oropeza (Alfred State) at the plate.
