Brockport loses steam against Ferrum

FERRUM, VA. – The College at Brockport baseball team stumbled against Ferrum College as they played their third game in three days. As the final out was recorded, the scoreboard read 16-3 in favor of the opposition.


  • The Golden Eagles now hold a record of 6-7 on the year
  • The Panthers move to 13-7 this season with the result


  • The Green and Gold were able to strike first as Liam O’Leary singled up the middle and advance on an error
  • Tom Kretzler brought him home with a single to right field and gave Brockport a 1-0 lead
  • The game was tied up in the third inning after Ferrum was able to bring across a run and make the score 1-1
  • From there, the deficit escalated to 6-1 by the seventh inning
  • Brockport made things interesting when Charlie Serino singled and stole second before advancing to third on an error
  • A sacrifice fly by Ryan Voight scored Serino and cut the score to 6-2
  • A few batters later another error on a hard-hit ball by Anthony EatonSkyler Ohrvall was able to cross the plate and make the score 6-3
  • Unfortunately, the Golden Eagles were unable to control the game in the final innings as they fell 16-3


  • Kretzler finished the day 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk
  • Serino, Matt O’Dair and O’Leary each recorded a hit


  • Up next for Brockport is a three-game series against Oswego State in Lexington, S.C. The series begins with a double header on Saturday, March 23 with game one scheduled for 12 p.m.
