Ryan Lucey paced Fairport in the Red Raiders’ over a state-ranked squad. Keenan Robertson scored a game-high 21 points in Irondequoit’s loss at Gates-Chili. Kevin Ryan combined for 47 points in two Pittsford Sutherland victories. Jeff Jung, Jr. drained 50 of Greece Olympia’s 92 points on Saturday. Derek Childs recorded back-to-back double-doubles in a pair of Honeoye Falls-Lima wins.
For their performances, Monroe County recognized the five as Player of the Week (Jan. 28-Feb. 2) for their division with Jung and Childs splitting the Division 4 honors.
In Fairport’s 74-61 win over McQuaid (No. 14 NYSSWA Class AA), Lucey sank 11 of his game and season-high 24 points in the final quarter to stake the Red Raiders to an early lead. The junior forward went 8-for-12 from field goal range, 5-for-8 from three, and 3-for-4 from the stripe. The six-foot-four captain combined for 11 rebounds on the week, five against Victor and six against McQuaid. Fairport (12-4) is back home against the undefeated Pittsford Mendon squad on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Robertson neared a double-double and his season-high score in Irondequoit’s 62-59 loss at Gates-Chili. The sophomore forward netted nine of his 17 attempts from the field on his way to the game-high 21 points. He grabbed eight boards and two assists. At six-foot-four, Robertson swatted a pair of shots and collected eight deflections on defense. Irondequoit (10-4) tips off at 5:30 p.m. on its home court against Edison Tech on Monday, Feb. 3.
Ryan combined for 47 points with 18 rebounds in Sutherland’s wins over Brockport and Churchville-Chili. In the 67-54 victory over Brockport, the senior connected on six of his nine attempts from field goal range and six of his ten shots from the line in rout to the game-high 16 points. He pulled down six rebounds, five offensive. On Saturday, the six-foot-six forward finished with 31 points, one point shy of his season-high, and pulled down 12 rebounds as Sutherland defeated Churchville-Chili 73-47. He netted 12 of his 13 attempts from field goal range and seven of his 11 free throw shots. Ryan has scored 1,098 points. The Knights (10-7) tip off against Brighton at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8.
Jung started his week with 14 points and six rebounds in Olympia’s two-point win at Eastridge. The senior’s standout game came the following day against Rochester Prep. Olympia won 92-48, and Jung surpassed his 21.4 points per game average by nearly 30. On his way to 50 points, he connected on 19-for-24 from the floor and 5-for-7 from the stripe on his career day. Jung grabbed four boards and two steals. The Spartans (8-7) are set to face World of Inquiry on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

In two HF-L wins, Childs combined for 44 points and 24 rebounds. The senior forward recorded a career-high 25 points in the Cougars 61-50 win over Spencerport. On his way to his career high, Childs connected on 11 of his 15 attempts. Not only did he pull down 11 rebounds to help his defense, he also blocked six Spencerport shots. HF-L and Brighton faced off in the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on Saturday, where Childs paced the Cougars with a game-high 19 points in the overtime game. On the other end, he pulled 13 rebounds and grabbed two steals. HF-L (7-8) is at Batavia on Wednesday, Feb. 6 with a 7:15 p.m. tip.
