Lamb, Pickett post career highs

Jalen Pickett (Aquinas) continued his impressive start at Siena College. The freshman guard finished with 25 points to go with six rebounds and a game-high seven assists in Siena’s 80-69 loss to Lehigh University, Wednesday night. Pickett went 10-of-19 from the floor including three of four from behind the arc to match Lehigh’s Kyle Leufroy for game high honors.

Pickett’s offensive output eclipsed his previous high 0f 19 against George Washington earlier in the month. The 6-foot-4 guard is averaging 14.2 points (PPG) in five games with 5.4 assists and 3.8 rebounds.

He has dished out 27 total assists on the season while committing nine turnovers.

Anthony Lamb (Greece Athena) poured in a career-high 34 points in Vermont’s 79-70 win over Yale. On 13-of-24 shooting from the floor and 6-of-11 from long range the 6-foot-6 junior forward surpassed his previous high of 32 against Northeastern last December. Lamb is scoring 21.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. He has scored in double figures in all four meetings Vermont (3-2) has had with Division I opponents this season.

Lamb has hit 54.1 percent (40 of 74) of his shots this season and 45.8 percent (11 of 24) from behind the arc.

Dontay Caruthers (East High) and Jeenathan Williams (UPrep) combined for 18 points and 11 rebounds to help No. 22 Buffalo beat Dartmouth, 110-71 in the Bulls (4-0) home opener.

In his first start of the season, Caruthers cashed in all three of his attempts from the floor for seven points to go with eight rebounds, four assists. Williams scored 11 on 4-of-11 shooting. The freshman added three rebounds, a block and a steal.

Quinton Rose (Bishop Kearney) scored 23 in Temple’s 76-59 win over Cal in Legends Classic, Monday night. Rose hit 11 of 20 from the floor. He collected five rebound and three assists. The junior is averaging 17.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists for Temple (4-1).

Thomas Bryant (Bishop Kearney) scored seven points in his first NBA start as Washington downed the Los Angeles Clippers, 125-118. Bryant hit on three of five shots for the night to go with three rebounds and one assist.
