CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –  Colgate sophomore guard Jordan Burns was named the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Lehigh freshman center Nic Lynch claimed rookie of the week honors when the first set of men’s basketball weekly awards of the season were announced by the League office on Monday.

Burns, a 2017 Patriot League All-Rookie Team selection, averaged 19.0 points and 5.0 assists to help the Raiders go 2-1 in their opening week. Lynch averaged 10.0 points over two games, while recording his first double-double against Miami (Fla.) on Friday.

Army West Point junior forward/center Matt Wilson, Bucknell senior guard Kimbal Mackenzie and Lehigh junior forward Pat Andree all received weekly honorable mention.

The Patriot League men’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s sports information director, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.
