Top-seeded Geneseo (No. 20 NYSSWA) battles No. 4 Keshequa, and second-seeded Naples takes on No. 3 Marion. Spots in the C2 finals are at stake. Here’s the breakdown:
No. 1 seed Geneseo Blue Devils (14-3-0) vs. No. 4 Keshequa Indians (11-6-0)
How they got here: Geneseo took down No. 8 Wheatland-Chili 7-0 in the quarterfinals while Keshequa shut out No. 5 Bloomfield 6-0.
Season matchup: The teams split the regular season series 1-1. Keshequa won the first meeting 1-0 and Geneseo won the second 4-1.
Names to know: Geneseo – Jack Gagnier (13 goals, seven assists), Alex Kruger (12 goals, seven assists), Danny Kelly (eight goals, nine assists) and Matthew Kreher (61 saves, 12 goals allowed).
Keshequa – Riley Rease (19 goals, ten assists), Aidan Wood (14 goals, four assists), Hudson Vasile (seven goals, nine assists), Reese Powers (four goals, seven assists), Josh Tallman (67 saves, 20 goals against) and Connor Galton (44 saves, 14 goals against).

History 101: Geneseo is a Class C2 powerhouse, winning three sectional titles dating back to 2012. Last year, the Blue Devils made their way to the finals and lost to Bishop Kearney 1-0. In between the Blue Devils’ three titles, the Indians took one home in 2014.
The match is set for a 7 PM start at Avon, Wednesday.

No. 2 seed Naples Big Green (13-3-1) vs. No. 3 seed Marion Black Knights (12-4-1)
How they got here: Naples shut out No. 7 Caledonia-Mumford 7-0, while Marion defeated No. 6 Perry 2-0.

Names to know: Naples – Cole Rathbun (21 goals, nine assists), Adam Quarterman (11 goals, nine assists), Stefan Radak (ten goals, eight assists), Aiden Peterson (nine goals, 14 assists), Alvero Fernandez-Escribano (seven goals, five assists) and Nick Clearman (72 saves, 19 goals against).
Marion – Braeden Szostak (13 goals, three assists), Francisco Cordova (11 goals, five assists), Matthew Gonzales (eight goals, eight assists), Drew Holahan (seven goals, five assists) and Evan Walters (21 saves, eight goals against).
Coaches: Ryan Betrus (Naples), Jared De Lyser (Marion)
History 101: The 2016 sectional champions, Black Knights, were sent home after a 3-2 loss to Geneseo in the quarterfinal round of 2017. Naples has not won a sectional title in over five seasons, but that’s not to say the squad hasn’t come close. The Big Green’s season came to an end in Class D1 finals with a 1-0 loss to Jasper-Troupsburg.
The teams are set to face off 6 PM on Wednesday at Canandaigua.
