Kearney grad Rose named Preseason First Team All-Conference

Bishop Kearney graduate and current Temple Owl junior, Quinton Rose was named preseason first team All-American Athletic Conference as announced Monday.

Rose, the Owls leading returning scorer (14.9) grabbed 4.3 rebounds and handed out 2.3 assists during the 2017-18 season.

He declared for the 2018 NBA Draft but did not hire an agent and returned to the university.

NBADraft.net projects that the 6-foot-8 guard will be a first-round pick (15th) in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Rose earned American Athletic Conference honorable mention as a sophomore. He connected on 43.4 percent (190-438) of his shots from the floor including 49 of 142 (34.5 percent) from behind the 3-point arc. He was among 18 finalists for the 2017 USA Men’s U19 World Cup Team.

Rose was a second team All-State performer as a senior at Bishop Kearney where he averaged 23 points and six rebounds.
