Genesee Valley tallied 38 shots on goal during its comeback win over Hinsdale Tuesday night. Hinsdale’s Spencer Sklar scored two unassisted goals within three minutes, giving the Bobcats a 2-0 lead at the half. Genesee Valley’s halftime talk was put into action, as Ryley McKnight and Josh McGuire quickly tied the game with back-to-back goals. Two minutes later, Ian Coombes fed one to Isiah Goodrich that Goodrich put in the net to give Genesee Valley its first lead of the game. Hinsdale’s Sklar then knotted the game up at three with a penalty kick. In the 38th minute, the Jaguars regained the lead with a penalty kick from McGuire. Hunter Jones, assisted by Cody Schneider, scored the final goal of the game one minute after McGuire’s penalty kick, and the Jaguars won it 5-3.

Naples’ Aiden Peterson and Cole Rathbun each marked two goals and one assist in the 5-1 win, leaving Naples undefeated in the Finger Lakes. Stefan Radak scored the fifth and final goal for Naples. Freshman Roman Novy-Marx scored his second goal of the season for HAC to put it on the board.

GENEVA 4
Despite 16 saves on Waterloo’s end, Geneva was able to land four in the net for a 4-0 shutout. Kaya Parara, assisted by Fadly Kafrawi, opened up the scoring with a goal in the 12th minute. Kafrawi went on two score the next two goals, one at the end of the first half and the other at the beginning of the second. Scoring the fourth goal was sophomore Mason Rusinko, who now leads the team with eight goals on the season.

Of ten Honeoye goals, only one occured in the first half. The first goal, in the 34th minute, was fed to Chris Lopez by Zachary Hass. The Honeoye squad picked up where they left off after the half, scoring nine throughout the second half. Scoring those nine goals were Ethan Bell, Sam Berger, Trent Schaff (2), Joey Morsheimer, Alex Rono, Lopez, and Hass (2).

The Bombers’ Tanner Kimball scored four and assisted two in the 11-4 rout of the South Seneca-Romulus Falcons. Nate Talley, Robert Ashman, Simon Wille (2), Adam Sheehan (2), and Calvin Rogers helped the Bombers tally up goals, most of which were unassisted. For the Falcons, Maxwell Mapstone and Hunter Hansen each netted two, unassisted goals each.

Pal Mac rounded up four goals on 20 shots on goal against Mynderse to remain undefeated in the Finger Lakes league. Nick Sapienza (2) and Jace Schafer scored goals in the first half, giving the Red Raiders a 3-0 lead. For the fourth and final goal, Aidan Quinn took one in unassisted in the 50th minute of play.

Bath-Haverling remains undefeated in the 2018 season with its shutout win over Livonia. Thomas Binkowski led Bath-Haverling’s offense with two goals and one assist. His assist was to Nick Strong for the second goal of the game in the second half. Keefer Calkins closed out the night’s scoring with an unassisted goal in the 64th minute, one minute after Binkowski knocked one in.

Zach Miles knocked in both goals for Wheatland-Chili, assisted by Troy Smith and Josh Gebhardt. Wheatland-Chili outshot Holley 28-9 in the match.

In an evenly played game, Perry came out on top 3-1 against Keshequa. Brock Conaway assisted the first two goals for Perry and scored the third unassisted. The first goal, the only one of the first half, was off the foot of Carson DeVinney. Garrett McClurg knocked in the second. Perry narrowly outshot Keshequa 11-10 and each team’s goalies recorded five saves.

LeRoy defeated Pavilion/York 5-1 in their last matchup on August 29 in the Dansville Tournament, and the Knights came back for more on Tuesday. Scott Kiester, Ethan Smith (2), Andrew Ayers, and William Stowell netted LeRoy’s five, unanswered goals.

With a win over Pembroke, Kendall earned its first win of the season. Pembroke and Kendall took a scoreless game into halftime, but Kendall fired up its offense almost immediately after play resumed. Brahayan Gonzalez assisted Nathan Warters in the fourth minute for the game’s first goal. Warters scored Kendall’s second goal and assisted the third, scored by Dale Steffen, to lead Kendall’s offense.

In the first minute of the game, Cedric Aschwanden got one passed Avon goalie Reverdy Clarke to give Letchworth/Warsaw an early lead. However, the lead didn’t last long, as Austin Perkins took one into the goal unassisted to knot the game at one in the fifth minute. Letchworth/Warsaw’s Nik Eustace knocked in the eventual game-winning goal before the end of the first half. Clarke tallied 11 saves on the night. With its narrow, home victory over Avon, Letchworth/Avon remains undefeated.

Lima Christian earned its second win of the season with a 3-0 shutout of Vertus. Graham Consul got the scoring underway with a penalty kick in the first half. In the second, Consul knocked in another unassisted. The senior then assisted the third and final goal off the foot of Shane Welch.

Gates-Chili displayed its offensive power with eight goals on 27 shots against East. Nick Furino led the team with three goals total, two in the first and one in the second, and one assist. Steven Nguyen, Christian Leonardo, Kristian Anniball (2), and Adam Blackwell each added to Gates-Chili’s 8-0 victory.

Idris Mohammad started the scoring in the match’s first minute, and Olympia jumped to a 5-0 lead at halftime. Martin Erdal, Andrew Balch, Gidyon Chane and Nick Grimes added markers in the first 40 minutes. Chane scored again in the second half. Guy Kadge had two assists. Sam Drury and Mohammad both had an assist.

Gabe Foltz found the back of the net with an assist from Curtis Rowe, and Rush-Henrietta snapped McQuaid’s 27-game unbeaten streak. Rowe took a long ball and headed it across the 18-yard box to Foltz for his first marker of the season, and the Royal Comets improved to 3-3-0 (2-2-0 Monroe County Division I).
“Certainly we understand the significance of last night,” second-year R-H coach Jake Falci said via email. “McQuaid had a great run last year and is in the process of replacing a lot of talented players lost to graduation. They are well coached and will be a presence at the end of the year.”
Senior goalkeeper Ethan Scheuer had 8 saves.
“Our kids however benefit from playing teams just as talented as McQuaid every game in the Monroe County Division 1 League,” Falci said mentioning the efforts of his backline: Zach Koops, Peter Breen, Dylan Ochs, and Alex Yurkovich along with substitutes Adam Zocalli and Santi Karel. “There are storied programs, great coaching and great players up and down our schedule. Those challenges make us better and ready to play in an environment such as last night.”

Canisteo-Greenwood’s goalkeeper Dylyn Bailey racked up 13 saves against Alfred-Almond. However, the Eagles snuck two passed Bailey to win the match 2-0. The scorers of the match were Aquila Cushing and Will Tormey. Alfred-Almond outshot Canisteo-Greenwood 19-13.

The Marauder’s took a 1-0 lead into halftime, thanks to a goal by Tyler Ingham, assisted by George Konstantinou. Gananda wasn’t able to keep them off the board, as Williamson’s offense scored four goals within ten minutes in the second half. Konstantinou, Luis Ceron, Justin Eaton, and Evan Wendler netted those four goals.

Marion, now 4-2 in the league, jumped out early over Red Creek. Marion held a 3-1 lead going into halftime; the three goals were scored by Sam Halstead, Francisco Cordova and Braeden Szostak. In the second half, Matthew Gonzales and Szostak each netted one to complete the scoring at 5-1. The Black Knights have now outscored their opponents 34-10. Leading the charge is senior Szostak with eight goals. Gonzales (senior) and Cordova (sophomore) follow with seven goals each.

The Bombers picked up a road shutout over North Rose-Wolcott after their home loss to Williamson. Freshman midfielder Ian Szemcsak created momentum, scoring his first varsity goal within the fifth minute of play. Muqtada Alafari, Russell Domm, and Max Wagner followed with nets of their own to put four on the board for ER. The Bombers’ goalie Michael Rashiator tallied 11 saves to keep NR-W quiet.
