Rochester falls in BCANY final

JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. — Kobe Long (McQuaid) led four in double figures to help Rochester defeat Mid Hudson, 79-72 and advance to the finals of the Basketball Coaches Association of New York (BCANY) Summer Hoops Fest.

Long connected four times behind the arc and finished with 21 points. The junior guard posted game highs of 24 and 20 points in Rochester’s two wins on Friday. He scored 16 more in Saturday’s win over Adirondack.

Tah-Jae Hill (Hilton) scored 18 points. Gerald Drumgoole (Irondequoit) added 13, and Miles Brown (Northstar Christian) had 12.

Justice Smith (Lyons) chipped in seven points while KeyShawn Ross (UPrep) and Steven Mahar (Aquinas) scored three apiece.

Rochester loss to Buffalo 79-75 in the championship game. Rochester led at half of the final 36-34 and 45-43 with 12:24 remaining. Buffalo went on a 20-11 run over the next six minutes to take a 63-56 advantage.
