EAST HIGH EAGLES (Class A2)
Last Season: Finished 16-4, lost to Pittsford Mendon in the Class A1 quarterfinals.
Top Returners: Jordi Agosto (Sr. SS, P .529/ .671 OBP/9-2B/1-3B/2 HR/ 27 RBI/12 SB, First Team All RCAC), Joel Alicea (Sr. 3B,P .354/.634 OBP/4-2B/16 RBI/ 4-1/2 CG/2 SHO/1.40 ERA/25 IP/ 49 K/ Second Team All-RCAC), Jean Carlos Alomar (Sr. OF,P .310/.560 OBP/2-2B/1-3B/ 1 HR) and Tyrone Roundtree Jr. (Jr. C .319/.534/4-2B/ 14 RBI).
Coach: Kyle Crandall, 238-109, 17th season at East
Next scheduled game: Tuesday, April 10 vs. NE Douglass.
Outlook: East is looking to build upon the leadership of its returning players to return to the RCAC championship game for the 15th year in a row. Many of the top contributors from last season graduated so there will be a mix of youth worked into the lineup and pitching rotation. This is a team that hopes to improve as the season progresses so that they are playing their best baseball during the middle-end of May.
EDISON TECH INVENTORS (Class AA)
Last Season: Finished 3-16 and lost to Franklin in the opening round of Class AA.
Top Returners: Jacob Heredia (Sr. INF,P,C)
Coach: Kyle Tickner, 3 – 16 (second season).
Next Game: Monday, April 16 at East High.
Outlook: Edison returns 12 seniors who have played high school baseball together in the past. The Inventors added some younger talent to their brotherhood along the way.”
FRANKLIN QUAKERS (Class AA)
Last Season: Finished 12-6 and lost to Fairport in the Class AA quarterfinals.
Top Returners: Frankie Santiago (Sr. OF,2B, .333/95 SB – needs 23 for career record and 40 for state record. Already holds section V record for a season), Julian Cotto (Jr. SS,C Franklin MVP for 2017, .438/41 R), Jonathan Dones (Sr. P, INF, 2-0 last year against East, including the RCAC championship game against East).
Coach: Eddie Lee, 131-308 (30th season).
Next game: Thursday, April 12 vs. Churchville-Chili.
Outlook: If Frankie Santiago and Julian Cotto get on base, Franklin will have a chance at scoring runs. The Quakers biggest challenge to overcome this season will be pitching and catching.
LEADERSHIP LIONS (Class A2)
Last Season: First year as a Varsity program
Top Performers: Justin Morales (Jr. P, 1B, SS, Played Varsity for Franklin last season), Ali Hassan (Sr. SS, P, .384/13 RBI/4 triples last season on Junior Varsity)
Coach: Dave Sackett, 29-49 (13 years coaching, fifth at the varsity level).
First Game: Thursday, April 12 at Monroe.

MONROE RED JACKETS (Class A2)
Last Season: Finished 9-11 and lost to Aquinas in the A2 semifinals.
Top Returners: Ernesto Perez (Sr. UTIL), Gregory Romero (Jr. UTIL), Yeudy Ulloa (So. P, INF).
Coach: Chris Golamb, 48-51 (sixth season).
Next Game: Wednesday, April 11 at Aquinas.
Outlook: Monroe has added some new players to a bunch of returners looking ahead to another successful season.
NORTHEAST COLLEGE PREP PANTHERS (Class A2)
Last Season: Finished 0-17 and lost to Honeoye Falls-Lima in the opening round of Class A2.
Top Returners: Ramon Cruz (Jr. P, SS .287), Ethan Nerau (So. CF, played great defense as a freshman)
Coach: Tim Sova, 10-41 (fourth season).
Next Game: Tuesday, April 10 at East High.
Outlook: NE Douglass has nowhere to go but up after not winning a game last season. Adonis Garcia will make his debut as a senior but should be at or near the top of the rotation. Junior Ramon Garcia will be his primary competition for that top spot. Both players will also anchor the middle infield. Sophomore Ethan Nerau returns after showing promise in center field as a freshman. Seniors Jorge Pimentel and Carlos Melendez will like share the bulk of the catching duties. Senior Mark Berry will contribute as a utility player. Newcomer junior Saulo Garcia will look to claim first base duties. Without a JV team a host of freshman will be looking to contribute in any way they can. The success of this team will be based on our ability to hit. The Panthers struggled in that area last year.
SCHOOL OF THE ARTS (Class A2)
Last Season: Finished 12-6 (10-2 in league) and lost to Aquinas in the A2 quarterfinals.
Coach: Sean Knorr, 12-5 record (third season).
First Game: Friday, April 13 at East High.
Outlook: SOTA returns its entire starting lineup. The Silverhawks have a very strong team this year with a ton of pitching and are looking to win their first City Championship.
WILSON MAGNET/EARLY COLLEGE PREP WILDCATS (Class A2)
Last Season: Finished 5-10 and lost to Greece Olympia in the A2 opening round.
Top Returners: Joseph DeMeyer (Sr. Captain C, 1B, P), James Balrich (Jr. P, 3B), Isaac Delorisis-Flores (Sr. 1B, P), Duane Henry (So. OF), Yacob Rodriguez (Jr. OF), Tyshawn Wooden (Jr. OF), Jaiden Daymon (Sr. 2B, P).
Coach: Barry Burke 5-10 (second season).
First Game: Friday, April 13 vs. Monroe.
Outlook: Wilson has a number of returning players this year, including Senior Captain Joey DeMeyer and James Baldrich. Additionally, Coach Burke has recruited a number of “multi-sport” athletes from both the football and basketball programs including senior James Cotton as well as juniors Ricky Gamble, Jevon Johnson and Ronnie Buck. Additionally, The Wildcats have added senior captain and catcher Jose’ Valdez to this year’s roster.
