Brockport’s Kyle Palka scored 10 points, with nine coming via three-pointers. Cory Gross scored 10 points. Amire Odey added nine. Brighton went to the line 28 times, converting 22 of those shots. Dan Hayes scored 14 of his game-high 25 points in the fourth quarter. The senior forward finished with eight rebounds. Owen VanNewkirk had 14 points and 8 rebounds. Eastman connected three times behind the arc and finished with 12 points. Seek added nine all on treys. Garrett Ruff had five points. Trevor Chamberlain (2) and Turner Wilson (1) rounded out the scoring for HF-L. Myles Rose paced Vertus with 16 points. Eric LeBrane had 14 points and Jamel Demery, 12. Lyndonville’s Nohl Breeze scored 18 points and the 12th-seeded Tigers employed a lock down defense in the second half to stun 4th seeded Harley Allendale Columbia 58-57 Wednesday night in the first round of Class D1 Sectional playoffs.
HAC, which raced to a 41-28 halftime lead, used several defenses to stymie the Wolves in the second half. The Wolves (14-7) could never get on track and was limited to their lowest quarter scoring of the season notching just 4 points in the third quarter.
A long range 3-pointer by Robert Dorsey with about 2 minutes left gave HAC is’ last lead a 56-55, but Lyndonville (7-14) hit free throws down the stretch to win the game, a last-second shot by HAC’s Yuhui Feng rimmed out as the buzzer sounded.
HAC was led by Ryan Hilton’s 15 points and 8 rebounds before fouling out, while Xavier Israel netted 12 points. Dorsey also finished with 12 points, all on three pointers, and JV callup Gifford Campbell saw extended minutes and finished with a career high 9 points, all on three pointers as well.
Lyndonville’s own JV callup Nathan Hydock turned in a strong performance playing most of the game and finishing with 10 points. The loss ended the Wolves’ season, which was their most prolific since 2009. Lyndonville will take on No. 5 Mt. Morris (13-7) in the quarterfinals.

Mt. Morris forced 12 first-half turnovers. Josh Hart and Justin Martin combined for 13 points in the second quarter when Mt. Morris outscored Alfred-Almond 27-10. Hart finished with eight points and nine rebounds on the night. Martin also had eight points to go with seven boards. Cam Regal collected 10 points, five blocks, eight rebounds and four assists in 14 minutes of play. Dylan Cicero paced the scoring with 13 points and five assists. Jansen Martinez added 11 points. The win was the eight straight for Mt. Morris. Sam Warren and Austin Swackhamer paced Alfred-Almond early with a pair of 3-pointers apiece. Mt. Morris will take on No. 13 Lyndonville (7-14) in the quarterfinals.
