OAKLAND, CA– Matt Joyce delivered a three-run triple to give the A’s the lead during their six-run comeback in the bottom of the eighth, keeping the Royals 0.5 games back of a wild card spot in the AL. Chris Smith surrendered three runs on three hits and one walk, punching out three in five-and-one-third innings for the A’s. Eric Hosmer topped the Royals with four RBI on two hits.
