PGCBL Roundup: Hamilton cycles through Dragons, Rule golden against Flames and Dutchmen sweep

GAME 1:
MOHAWK VALLEY DIAMONDDAWGS (29-17) 3
ALBANY DUTCHMEN (32-16) 18
LITTLE FALLS, NY– Junior Justin Childers (Ohio Dominican University) was one of four players to go 2-for-6 with three RBI for the Dutchmen, who won a third straight game. Sophomore Tommy Miller (Siena College) allowed one run on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Junior Tom Moore (College of Saint Rose) drove in two runs for the DiamondDawgs.

GAME 2:
ALBANY DUTCHMEN (33-16) 10
MOHAWK VALLEY DIAMONDDAWGS (29-18) 4
LITTLE FALLS, NY– Freshman Griffen Herrera (Azusa Pacific University) hit a grand slam for the Dutchmen, who ended the regular season with four straight wins. Sophomore Deavan Phillips (Ave Maria University) gave up three runs on six hits and one walk, striking out five for the Dutchmen. Sophomore Jonathan McKinney (Southern Union State Community College) threw three scoreless innings in relief for the DiamondDawgs, letting up three hits and setting down three by strikeout.

AMSTERDAM MOHAWKS (36-12) 12
GLENS FALLS DRAGONS (17-33) 5
GLENS FALLS, NY– Freshman Chris Hamilton (Stony Brook University) went hit for the cycle and plated six runs for the Mohawks, who ended the regular season on a six-game winning streak.

ELMIRA PIONEERS (27-23) 8
GENEVA RED WINGS (29-21) 9    in 10
GENEVA, NY– Senior Yohei Ishiyama (Nihon University) scored the game-winning run for the Red Wings on an error in the bottom of the 10th. Incoming freshman Dominic Toso (Bucknell University) led the Red Wings with three hits and three RBI. Freshman Andrew Orzel (Wofford College) had three RBI and three hits for the Pioneers.

ONONDAGA FLAMES (23-26) 5
JAMESTOWN JAMMERS (34-15) 8
JAMESTOWN, NY– Freshman Connor Rule (Kansas State) brought home two runs in the Jammers’ third straight win. Freshman Jacob Gilhaus (Kalamazoo College) provided four scoreless innings of relief for the Jammers, letting up two hits while punching out five. Sophomore Camillo Spinoso (Le Moyne College) topped the Flames with three RBI. Freshman Brandon Shirley (Wells College) allowed two runs on four hits and four walks, fanning four in five innings for the Flames.
