Senior, Spartans rally in tenth; Bailey, Kapturasky carry Hornell past Genesee

SYRACUSE — Cyrus Senior finished with two hits including a triple in the tenth that plated Britton Lawrence as the Spartans tallied six runs that inning to take game one against their cross-town rivals. Micah Riddick went 3-for-3 including a run-scoring single in the second. Reliever Christian Lalomia went three and a third innings allowing no runs on two hits. The right-hander set down two on strikes and picked up the win. Game two of the best-of-three series is set for Wednesday.

HORNELL — Jared Kapturasky went 3-for-4 including a single in the third that drove in Ethan Harrison as the Dodgers took game 1 in a best of three series for the Western Division title. Connor Bailey finished with two hits with 2 RBI. Matt Mulhearn tossed eight innings allowing four runs on eight hits. The right-hander fanned seven and picked up the victory. Kapturasky closed out the ninth to pick up the save. Both teams will meet again tonight for game two. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
