CINCINNATI – Chris Herrmann launched a two-run home run which ended a six-run fifth inning for the Diamondbacks. Robbie Ray set down four on strikes and allowed two earned on four hits in six innings pitched for Arizona. Cincinnati’s Sal Romano lasted four innings giving up six earned off six hits.
Chicago Cubs 5 Atlanta Braves 1
ATLANTA – John Lackey allowed one earned run on five hits in five innings pitched as he earned his first victory in a month for the Cubs. Javier Baez and Willson Contreras each launched a home run in the third innings for Chicago, which won its fifth straight game. Sean Newcomb punched out five on strikes, gave up five earned on eight hits in 5.1 innings pitched for the Braves.
New York Yankees 6 Minnesota Twins 3
MINNESOTA – Gary Sanchez went 2-for-5 with two RBI and sparked a five-run fifth. Luis Cessa allowed three earned on four hits in 3.2 innings pitched for New York, which ended a two-game losing skid. Bartolo Colon got his first start since being picked up from the Braves lasted four innings and gave up four earned on eight hits.
Baltimore Orioles 12 Texas Rangers 1
BALTIMORE – Chris Davis rocked two home-runs and drove in six and the Orioles took their second straight from the Rangers. Trey Mancini and Seth Smith each homered for Baltimore. Dylan Bundy fanned four on strikes and gave up one earned run on four hits in six innings pitched for the home team.
Pittsburgh Pirates 4 Milwaukee Brewers 3
PITTSBURGH – Ivan Nova punched out six and gave up three earned runs on 10 hits in six innings pitched for the Pirates, which have won three straight. Josh Harrison rocked a three-run home run in the sixth inning to tie the game at three for Pittsburgh. Travis Shaw went 3-for-4 supplying the Brewers only runs with a three-run home run.
St. Louis Cardinals 5 New York Mets 0
NEW YORK – Michael Wacha blanked the Mets in an eight-strike out, complete game performance. Matt Carpenter went 4-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI for St. Louis. The Mets Rafael Montero fanned five and allowed two earned on seven hits in seven innings pitched.
Philadelphia Phillies 5 Miami Marlins 2
MIAMI – Maikel Franco and Nick Williams both launched a home run for the Phillies. Vince Velasquez struck out four in six innings pitched. Giancarlo Stanton scored the only runs for the Marlins with a homer and an RBI.
Boston Red Sox 5 Toronto Blue Jays 4 (F/15)
BOSTON – Hanley Ramirez blasted a solo home run to lift the Red Sox over the Blue Jays. Brian Johnson struck out four, walked three and allowed three earned on eight hits in six innings pitched for Boston. J.A. Happ gave up two earned runs on five hits in five innings pitched for Toronto.

CHICAGO – Cody Bellinger drove in the Dodgers only run in the first inning as he went 2-for-2. Clayton Kershaw struck out seven over seven scoreless innings for Los Angeles. Miguel Gonzalez allowed one earned on five hits and set down five on strikes in five innings pitched for the White Sox.
Houston Astros 6 Seattle Mariners 2
HOUSTON – Evan Gattis blasted two solo shots in the second and sixth innings for the Astros, who have won three of five out of the All-Star break. Brad Peacock punched out nine on strikes and allowed one earned in seven innings pitched as he earned his eighth victory of the season. Sam Gaviglio gave up five earned on eight hits in six innings pitched for the Mariners.
Detroit Tigers 9 Kansas City Royals 3
KANSAS CITY – Nicholas Castellanos (4-for-5) homered twice and drove in five as the Tigers won their fourth straight. Matthew Boyd allowed three earned on seven hits in six innings for Detroit. Travis Wood gave up six earned on nine hits in 4.1 innings pitched for the Royals.

COLORADO – Mark Reynolds launched a three-run home run in the first inning as the Rockies won their third in a row. Antonio Senzatela allowed three earned on four hits in five innings pitched as he earned his 10th victory of the season.
Tampa Bay Rays 4 Oakland Athletics 3
OAKLAND – Adeiny Hechavarria started a ninth inning rally as he drove in Mallex Smith and sent Brad Miller to third for the Rays. Shane Peterson plated Miller with the next at bat. Blake Snell allowed three earned runs on three hits in four innings pitched for Tampa Bay.
Washington Nationals 4 Los Angeles Angels 3
LOS ANGELES – Bryce Harper launched a solo home run over Mike Trout‘s head in the first inning, the next half inning Trout returned the favor. Harper added a 4-for-4 performance with a triple and two runs scored. Edwin Jackson allowed two earned in seven innings pitched for the Nationals. Jesse Chavez fanned five on strikes and gave up two earned on eight hits in six innings pitched for the Angels.
San Francisco Giants 2 Cleveland Indians 1 (F/10)
SAN FRANCISCO – Eduardo Nunez drove in the game-winning run with a single to right which scored Denard Span as the Giants ended a three-game losing skid. Ty Blach allowed an earned run on seven hits in seven innings pitched for San Francisco. Mike Clevinger set down seven on strikes and allowed three hits in six scoreless innings pitched for the Indians.
