WELLSVILLE — Alex Simon went six and a third innings allowing no runs on one hit as the Nitros won their third straight. The right-hander fanned two and picked up his first win of the season. Brenden Cuni jump-started the Nitros offense with a single in the fifth that plated Bayley Jamanis. Cuni added another single in the seventh to bring in Jamanis as the Nitros tacked on four more that inning.

WELLSVILLE — Angelo Baez pitched seven scoreless innings allowing two hits as the Silversmiths snapped a two-game skid. The right-hander set down eight on strikes and picked up the win. Craig Sandford hit his third home run of the season with a two-run shot in the fourth. Justin DiDonato went seven innings allowing six runs on six hits for the Nitros. The right-hander fanned nine.

ROCHESTER — Seth Hagan went 2-for-3 including a run-scoring single in the third as the Ridgemen won for the first time in seven games. Jonathan Sabino recorded a single in the third that drove in Ethan Luna, and Rochester went on to score all five of their runs in the frame. Tyler Fischer went five innings allowing three runs on four hits. The right-hander set down two on strikes and picked up his first win of the season. Sean Masiakiewicz went two innings allowing one run and one hit as he picked up the save.

GENESEE — Dylan Ott went 3-for-4 including a run-scoring single in the fifth as the Crush stayed a half game behind the Syracuse Spartans in the Eastern Division. Ethan Moore finished with two hits including a single in the fourth that plated Ott. Tyler Howard went five and a third innings allowing three runs on four hits. The right-hander fanned three and picked up his second win of the season.

SYRACUSE — Robert Ballinger went 4-for-5 including a double in the seventh that plated Britton Lawrence as the Spartans remained in first place in the Eastern Division. Ballinger added a run-scoring single in the seventh as the Crush tallied up eight runs that inning. Chris Schad finished with two hits including a double in the fifth that drove in Jay Perry. Michael Bubniak tossed five innings allowing four runs on seven hits. The left-hander set down four on strikes.

HORNELL — Jack Brett went 3-for-4 including a run-scoring single in the first, and the Dodgers won their fifth straight. Max Modeste finished with two hits including a single in the sixth that plated Sam Mang. Connor Bailey went 2-for-5 including a solo home run in the fifth. Reid VanScoter (Livonia) pitched six innings allowing five runs on eight hits. The left-hander set down five on strikes and picked up the win.

OLEAN — Thomas Beliveau went eight innings allowing one run on six hits, and the Salt Cats won their fifth in a row. The right-hander fanned four and picked up his first win of the season. Alexander Ferlenda went 2-for-4 including a run-scoring single in the eighth. Brandon Cornelius finished with three hits.
