Syracuse Salt Cats (10-9) 4
Cortland Crush (12-6) 3
CORTLAND — Maxwell Bain went five innings allowing two runs on four hits with five strikeouts as the Salt Cats won their fourth straight. Johnny Croley picked up his first save of the season. Shannon Baker had three hits while both Adam Holland and Darian Blanks finished with two hits apiece. Will Ginsberg went six and two-third innings allowing four runs on seven hits with three strike outs for the Crush.

Olean Oilers (8-12) 12
Genesee Rapids (9-14) 1
HOUGHTON — Allen Murphy went 3-for-5 with three RBI including a triple in the second that plated two as the Oilers have won six of their last ten games. Murphy jumpstarted the Oilers offense in the first with a single to left that drove in a run. Zach Spangenberg plated two with a base hit to right as the Oilers put five on the scoreboard in the first. Gunner Becker tossed seven innings allowing one run on five hits. The right-hander fanned four to pick up his second win of the season.

Rome Generals (8-9) 2
Rochester Ridgemen (5-14) 4
ROCHESTER — Josh Stella went seven innings surrendering two runs on four hits as the Ridgemen won their first game against the Generals this season. The right-hander fanned eight to pick up his first win of the season. Casey Claflin did not allow a hit picked up the save with two scoreless innings of relief. Joshua Parks and Jonathon Sabino collected two hits apiece.

Hornell 4(14-6)
Wellsville 6 (9-8)
WELLSVILLE — When the Nitros were starting to get off the field after the top of the ninth, one thing was said by a number of the players heading toward the dugout — “Let’s win the game.”

Wellsville was in the same situation against the very same team, when Dakota Chmiel lifted a two-run homer to give the Nitros the 6-4 walk-off victory just last Wednesday.
