PGCBL Roundup: Outlaws get first win, McKenna slugs for Stallions and Red Wings offense explodes

AMSTERDAM MOHAWKS (5-2) 3  in 10
AMSTERDAM, NY– Freshman John McKenna (Army West Point) drove in three runs on two home runs for the Stallions, who sit in fourth in the East Division. Freshman Mark Meyer (Marshall University) threw seven innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits and four walks with four strike outs. Freshman Joe LaSorsa (St. John’s University) pitched six scoreless innings for the Mohawks, giving up three hits and one walk, while striking out four.

ONEONTA OUTLAWS (1-7) 7
ONEONTA, NY– Sophomore Nathan Wrighter (Bryant University) struck out seven batters and let up one run on three hits and one walk over six-and-one-third innings in the Outlaws first win of the season. Junior Jack Fossand (Dartmouth College) tossed five innings, surrendering two unearned runs on four hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

ADIRONDACK TRAIL BLAZERS (4-5) 6
BOONVILLE, NY– Sophomore Trustin Riley (University of Tampa) and junior Mikey Arman (Kenyon College) combined to go 7-for-8 with 10 RBI, eight runs scored to lead the Red Wings to a fourth straight win. Sophomore Jordan Murphy (University of Texas-Dallas) hurled five innings, allowing three runs on three hits and four walks, fanning five. Junior Riley Schaefer (Texas Lutheran University) knocked home three runs for the Trail Blazers. Freshman Bryce Van Horn (Nova Southeastern University) gave up nine runs on seven hits and five walks with two strikeouts in four innings pitched.
