PGCBL Roundup: Wright State duo leads Blue Sox; Antalek shuts down Outlaws

BOONVILLE, NY– Freshmen Zane Harris (Wright State) and Matt Jewell (Wright State) each drove in two runs to help the Blue Sox continue the strong start at 3-0. Junior Nathanial Popiel (Dominican College) threw five innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts. Junior Lou Mattarzo (Iona College) and freshman Dan Abate (Monmouth College) had solo home runs for the Trail Blazers. Freshman Bryce Van Horn (Nova Southeastern University) tossed five innings, letting up three runs (all unearned) with two hits and one walk, while striking out three strikeouts.

SAUGERTIES, NY– Freshman Jason Antalek (Iona College) hurled two-and-two-thirds scoreless innings with five strikeouts to earn the win, the first of the Stallions’ season. Freshman Michael White (Stonehill College) lasted five innings for the Outlaws, giving up five runs (four earned) on three hits and five walks with three strikeouts.
