MIAMI – Hassan Whiteside scored 23 points and grabbed 18 rebounds as the Heat (40-41) won for the third time in their last four games. Tyler Johnson netted 24 points, collected five rebounds and dished four assists.
Deron Williams (35), Kevin Love (25) and Channing Frye (21) combined for 81 points, but the Cavaliers (51-30) lost their third straight.
With 1:07 left in regulation the Heat had possession down 108-106 when out of a timeout Goran Dragic netted the tying basket with 54 seconds left to send the game to overtime. The Heat outscored the Cavaliers 16-13 to pick up the victory.
Indiana Pacers 120 Philadelphia 76ers 111
PHILADELPHIA – Paul George dropped 27 points and dished out five assists as the Pacers (41-40) won their fourth straight. Thaddeus Young added 20 points and eight rebounds. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot netted 24 points and collected five rebounds, but the 76ers (28-53) dropped their seventh in a row.
Boston Celtics 114 Brooklyn Nets 105
BOSTON – Isaiah Thomas scored 27 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists as the Celtics (52-29) won their second in a row. Al Horford added 19 points and eight rebounds. Jeremy Lin (26) and Brooke Lopez (25) combined for 51 points as the Nets (20-61) lost for the second time in three games. Andrew Nicholson (St. Bonaventure) grabbed a rebound in eight minutes off the bench.
Chicago Bulls 122 Orlando Magic 75
CHICAGO – Robin Lopez dropped 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Bulls (40-41) won for the sixth time in eight games. Jimmy Butler and Jerian Grant scored 17 points a piece. Nikola Vucevic collected a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, but the Magic (28-53) fell for the seventh time in eight games.
Milwaukee Bucks 89 Charlotte Hornets 79
MILWAUKEE – Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a triple-double with 10 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds as the Bucks (42-39) have won two in a row. Tony Snell and Greg Monroe scored a team-high 16 points. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds, but the Hornets (36-45) have lost their fourth in a row. Brian Roberts (Dayton) scored seven points, grabbed two rebounds, dished out an assist and took away a steal in 27 minutes as a starter. Treveon Graham (VCU) netted 12 points and collected two rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench.
Washington Wizards 105 Detroit Pistons 101
DETROIT – Bradley Beal (33) and Markieff Morris (20) combined for 53 points as the Wizards (49-32) won their third out of their last four games. Tobias Harris scored 22 points off the bench, but the Pistons (37-44) dropped their third contest in last five games.
Portland Trail Blazers 99 San Antonio Spurs 98
PORTLAND – Shabazz Napier netted a team high 32 points, and the Trail Blazers (41-40) won their third in a row. Evan Turner added 16 points and dished out seven assists. Kawhi Leonard scored 18 points in 20 minutes played, but the Spurs (61-20) dropped their second straight.
Los Angeles Clippers 125 Houston Rockets 96
LOS ANGELES – Chris Paul scored 19 points, handed out nine assists and collected five rebounds as the Clippers (50-31) extended their winning streak to six games. DeAndre Jordan added a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Eric Gordon netted 17 points and grabbed five rebounds, but the Rockets (54-27) have lost two out of their last three games.
Utah Jazz 105 Golden State Warriors 99
OAKLAND – Rudy Gobert collected a double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds as the Jazz (50-31) have won three out of their last four games. George Hill scored a team-high 20 points and handed out five assists. Stephen Curry dropped 28 points, collected four rebounds and handed out four assists, but the Warriors (66-15) 14 game winning streak was snapped.
