LOS ANGELES – Chris Paul scored 30 points and DeAndre Jordan recorded a double-double (19 points and 20 rebounds), helping the Los Angeles Clippers (40-26) beat the Philadelphia 76ers (23-42) last night. The Clippers trailed 79-75 going into the fourth quarter but opened the final period with a 10-0 run. Los Angeles has beaten Philadelphia in 10 of their last 11 meetings. Richaun Holmes led Philadelphia with 24 points and nine rebounds. Dario Saric added 16 points, and Jahlil Okaphor had 14. The Sixers shot 47.6 percent from the field last night. They are now 8-23 on the road this season.
Detroit Pistons 112 New York Knicks 92
DETROIT – Tobias Harris scored 23 of his 28 points in the first half, when the Detroit Pistons (33-33) took complete control with a victory over the New York Knicks (26-40) on Saturday night. Andre Drummond recorded a double-double (24 points and 15 rebounds) and Reggie Jackson added 18 on the night. Kristaps Porzingis led the Knicks in the scoring department as he recorded 18 points.
Oklahoma City Thunder 112 Utah Jazz 104
OKLAHOMA CITY – Russell Westbrook had 33 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds for his 32nd triple-double of the season, leading the Thunder (37-29) to a victory over the Utah Jazz (41-25) on Saturday. Westbrook broke a tie with Wilt Chamberlain (1967-68) for the second-most triple-doubles in a season. Oscar Robertson has the most triple-doubles in the regular season with 41 which was the 1961-62 season. Victor Oladipo added 22 points on the night. Dante Exum led the Jazz with 22 points on the night.
Cleveland Cavaliers 116 Orlando Magic 104
ORLANDO – LeBron James recorded a triple-double (24 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds), and the Cavaliers (43-21) stopped a three-game losing streak with a 116-104 victory over the Magic (24-43) on Saturday night. Seven players on Cleveland scored in double-figures on the night. Some include: Kyrie Irving who had 22 points on the night. Tristan Thompson added 14 points and Iman Shumpert finished with 13 points. The Cavaliers played without two of their key contributor which were Kevin Love and Kyle Korver because to injuries. Love is recovering from knee surgery, and Korver missed his second straight game with a sore left foot. Nikola Vujevic led the Magic in the scoring department as he dropped 20 points. He also grabbed 16 rebounds on the night.
Milwaukee Bucks 102 Minnesota Timberwolves 95
MILWAUKEE – Tony Snell scored 19 points, “The Greek Freak” Giannis Antetokounmpo had 18 and the Milwaukee Bucks (32-33) take down the Minnesota Timberwolves (27-38) on Saturday night for their sixth consecutive win. Mathew Dellavedova finished with 16 points. Karl-Anthony Towns was the leading scorer for the Timberwolves as he dropped 35 points. Ricky Rubio finished the night off with 22 points.
New Orleans Pelicans 122 Charlotte Hornets 122
CHARLOTTE – Anthony Davis records a double-double (46 points and 21 rebounds) as the Pelicans (26-40) take care of business against the Charlotte Hornets (29-37) last night. Jrue Holiday also recorded a double-double for New Orleans as he scored 15 points and had 13 assists. Jordan Crawford added 19 points off the bench. Marvin Williams led the Hornets in the scoring department as he finished with 27 points. Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum both added 24 points.
San Antonio Spurs 107 Golden State Warriors 85
SAN ANTONIO – Patty Mills had 21 points and the San Antonio Spurs (51-14) defeated the Golden State Warriors (52-14) on Saturday night. Kyle Anderson finished with 13 points on the night. He also had eight rebounds and six assists. Kawhi Leonard didn’t play due to a concussion. Ian Clark led the Warriors in the scoring department as he dropped 36 points on the night. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iguodala. Golden State is now on a three-game losing streak.
Atlanta Hawks 107 Memphis Grizzlies 90
MEMPHIS – Taurean Prince scored a career-high 17 points to lead a balanced Atlanta attack as the Hawks (37-29) sent the Memphis Grizzlies (36-30) to their fifth straight loss. Paul Millsap and Dennis Schroder finished with 16 points each for Atlanta. Millsap added 11 rebounds, while Schroder had seven rebounds and eight assists as the Hawks moved within a game of the Toronto Raptors for the fourth seed in the East. Once again, Howard didn’t play as he took another day off. JaMychal Green led Memphis with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Mike Conley scored 16. Brandan Wright finished with 10 points.
Miami Heat 104 Toronto Raptors 89
MIAMI – Dion Waiters scored 20 points, Tyler Johnson added 16 and the Miami Heat (32-34) beat the Toronto Raptors (38-28) on Saturday night, improving to 21-4 over their last 25 games. Goran Dragic scored 15 and Hassan Whiteside recorded a double-double (12 points and 14 rebounds) for Miami. Miami started the season off 11-30 and is now in the playoff hunt in the Eastern Conference. DeMar DeRozan scored 17 points for the Raptors, who have lost 15 of their last 25 games.
Denver Nuggets 105 Sacramento Kings 92
SACRAMENTO – Jamal Murray 14 points as the Denver Nuggets (31-35) held on to beat the Sacramento Kings (25-41) on Saturday night. Eleven of Murray’s points came in the fourth quarter. Gary Harris had 24 points, Nikola Jokic recorded a double-double (20 points and 14 rebounds) and Danilo Gallinari added 15 points. Buddy Hield led the Kings in scoring as he dropped 17 points on the night.
Washington Wizards 125 Portland Trail Blazers 125 (OT)
PORTLAND – John Wall dropped 39 points and the Washington Wizards (41-24) edged the Portland Trail Blazers (28-36) 125-124 in a overtime win on Saturday night. Bradley Beal finished with 26 points which erased a 21-point deficit on the way to its fifth straight win. C.J. McCollum led the charge for Portland with 36 points. Damian Lillard finished the night off with 33 points.
Phoenix Suns 100 Dallas Mavericks 98
DALLAS – Devin Booker‘s 19-foot jumper with 1.4 seconds left gave the Suns (22-44) a win on the road over the Dallas Mavericks (28-37) on Saturday night. Booker scored 25 of his 36 points in the second half. He scored the Suns’ final eight points, twice making tying baskets. T.J. Warren added 16 points on the night. Harrison Barnes and Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks in the scoring department with 23 points each.
