Gonzaga captures fifth straight WCC title

LAS VEGAS, NV– Przemek Karnowski netted six points during a 12-0 Gonzaga run late in the first half to the Bulldogs up 31-13, on their way to a fifth consecutive WCC Championship.

Nigel Williams-Goss scored 22 points and Karnowski’s double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) combined to lead the Bulldogs. Jock Landale picked up 10 points, five rebounds and two assists for the Gaels.

Gonzaga held Saint Mary’s, the sixth-best shooting team in the country at 50 percent per game, to 21 of 57 (36.8 percent) from the floor.

The Bulldogs head to the NCAA tournament at 32-1 and the Gaels must wait for an at-large bid at 28-4.
