Landen Lucas knocked down a pair of free throws with 12 second remaining in the second half, giving Kansas a two-point lead and helping the Jayhawks hold on against the Baylor Bears.
Frank Mason III scored 23 points and handed out eight assists for the Jayhawks. Johnathan Motley countered for the Bears with 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Despite finishing 5-20 ( 25 percent) from behind the three-point line, the Jayhawks, who entered the game ranked fifth in the country from three (41.3 percent), held on against the Bears.
The Jayhawks improved to 24-3 and the Bears fell to 22-5.
