McCollum’s floater wins it in Dallas

Portland Trail Blazers 114  Dallas Mavericks 113
DALLAS – C.J. McCollum (Lehigh) netted 32 points as the Trail Blazers (23-30) ended a two losing skid.

With three seconds left in the game Dirk Nowitzki, who had 25 points, drained a three-point shot to put the Mavericks (20-32) up  113-112. Two of McCollum’s 32 points came at the most critical point in the game. He received an inbound pass split two defenders and went with a floater to edge the Mavericks 114-113.

Damian Lillard added 29 points, six assists and five rebounds. Harrison Barnes scored 26 points and grabbed five rebounds but the Mavericks lost their second straight.

Charlotte Hornets 111  Brooklyn Nets 107
CHARLOTTE – Kemba Walker, Nicolas Batum and Marco Belinelli scored 17 points each as the Hornets (24-28) snapped a seven game losing streak.  Brian Roberts (Dayton) had two assists and a rebound in 13 minutes off the bench. Bojan Bogdanovic scored a team high 22 points and grabbed five rebounds, but the Nets (9-43) are on a 10 game losing streak.

Houston Rockets 128  Orlando Magic 104
HOUSTON – James Hard registered a double-double with 25 points and 13 assists as the Rockets (38-17) won their second game in a row. Trevor Ariza added 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Nikola Vucevic registered 14 points and 19 rebounds, but the Magic (20-34) lost their seventh out of their last nine games.
