Alabama upsets No. 19 South Carolina in four overtimes

ALABAMA 90 No. 19 SOUTH CAROLINA 86 in 4OT

Riley Norris scored four points during a 6-0 run for the Alabama Crimson Tide to end the fourth overtime and the game, securing a win over the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Avery Johnson Jr., son of the Crimson Tide’s head coach, led the team with 23 points and six rebounds. Norris (11 points, 14 rebounds) and Armond Davis (19 points) also contributed to the win. Sindarius Thornwell paced the Gamecocks with 44 points and 21 rebounds for a double-double.

Alabama limited the Gamecocks to 5-of-31 shooting from beyond the arc.

The Crimson Tide improve to 14-9 and the Gamecocks fall to 19-5.

No. 2 VILLANOVA 75 GEORGETOWN 64

Josh Hart picked up 25 points, seven rebounds and three assists for Villanova (23-2). L.J. Peak recorded 21 points, six assists and three rebounds for Georgetown (13-12).

No. 15 KENTUCKY 92 LSU 85

Wenyen Gabriel topped Kentucky (19-5) with 23 points and eight rebounds. Antonio Blakeney‘s 31 points and five assists were good for the team lead for LSU (9-14). LSU has lost its last 10 games.

No. 17 FLORIDA 72 GEORGIA 60

Chris Chiozza had 15 points, four rebounds and four steals for Florida (19-5). J.J. Frazier gave Georgia (13-11) 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Florida has now won five straight.

PENN STATE 70 No. 21 MARYLAND 64

Lamar Stevens collected 25 points and seven rebounds to pace the Penn State (13-12) upset. Justin Jackson scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Maryland (20-4).

No. 22 BUTLER 68 MARQUETTE 65

Andrew Chrabascz netted 21 points, pulled down five rebounds, collected five steals and handed out four assists for Butler (19-5). Marquette (15-9) saw Luke Fischer give a 19 point, 13-rebound performance for a double-double.

OTHER:

BUFFALO 65 NORTHERN ILLINOIS 45

Dontay Caruthers (East High) scored seven points, grabbed three rebounds and handed out a pair of assists for Buffalo
