PHILADELPHIA – Robert Covington netted a team-high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the 76ers (18-29) ended a two-game skid.
Matt Barnes knocked down a 25-foot three ball brought the Kings (19-29) within one with five seconds left. Gerald Henderson dropped two free-throws which extended the lead to three. Arron Afflalo missed a three to tie the game.
DeMarcus Cousins collected 46 points and rebounds, but the Kings lost for the seventh time in their last 10 games.
Miami Heat 104 Brooklyn Nets 96
MIAMI – Goran Dragic scored 20 points, dished out eight assists and took away three steals as the Heat (19-30) extended their winning streak to eight games. Dion Waiters added 19 points, six rebounds and nine assists.
Minnesota Timberwolves 111 Orlando Magic 105
MINNESOTA – Andrew Wiggins (27), Karl-Anthony Towns (23) and Ricky Rubio (22) combined for 72 points, and the Timberwolves (19-29) won for the five time in their last six games. Serge Ibaka registered a double-double 17 points and 10 rebounds, but the Magic (19-31) dropped their fourth in five games.
Boston Celtics 113 Detroit Pistons 109
BOSTON – Isaiah Thomas posted 41 points, and the Celtics (30-18) won their fourth straight. Jae Crowder added 21 points and eight rebounds. Andre Drummond scored 28 points and grabbed 22 rebounds, but the Pistons (21-27) dropped their third in a row.
Dallas Mavericks 104 Cleveland Cavaliers 97
DALLAS – Harrison Barnes scored 24 points and collected 11 rebounds as the Mavericks (18-30) won for their fourth in five games. LeBron James netted 23 points, grabbed nine rebounds and handed out nine assists, but the Cavaliers (32-15) dropped their fourth out of their last six games.
Memphis Grizzlies 115 Phoenix Suns 96
PHOENIX – Mike Conley scored a career-high 38 points as the Grizzlies (29-21) won their fourth out of their last sixth. Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph added 18 points each. Devin Booker dropped 22 points and grabbed six rebounds, but the Suns (15-33) lost their fourth straight.
