Thursday’s NBA action.

UTAH JAZZ 96 LOS ANGELES LAKERS 88

SALT LAKE CITY – Gordon Hayward dropped 24 points on 7-of-14 shooting to lead the Jazz (30-18) over the Lakers (16-34). Hayward was named an all-star for the first time in his career, and is the first Utah Jazz player to make an all-star game since Deron Williams in 2010-11. Rudy Gobert, who many think should’ve joined Hayward in New Orleans this year, added nine points, 13 rebounds and six blocks.

Utah went on a 16-0 run in the third to take a 68-56 lead that they would never let go of. The closest Los Angeles would ever be after that run was 80-76 in the fourth quarter.

Lou Williams scored 20 points off the bench for the Lakers, who have dropped eight of their last nine games. Ivica Zubac and Jordan Clarkson put in 16 points apiece. Zubac also grabbed 10 rebounds.

OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER 109 DALLAS MAVERICKS 98

OKLAHOMA CITY – Russell Westbrook exploded for 45 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Thunder (28-19). Harrison Barnes dropped 31 points for the Mavs (16-30).

INDIANA PACERS 109 MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES 103

MINNEAPOLIS – Paul George netted 32 points, five assists and four rebounds for the Pacers (23-22). Myles Turner added 23 points and six rebounds. Jeff Teague scored 20 and dished out 13 assists. Karl-Anthony Towns had 33 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolves (17-29). Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins dropped 23 and 21 points, respectively.

DENVER NUGGETS 127 PHOENIX SUNS 120

DENVER – Nikola Jokic paced the Nuggets (20-25) with 29 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists. Danilo Gallinari chipped in with 25 points. Jameer Nelson (Saint Joseph’s) had 13 points and nine assists. Eric Bledsoe (28), Devin Booker (24) and TJ Warren (21) combined for 73 points for the Suns (15-31).
