Late run propels No. 22 Xavier to win

No. 22 XAVIER 86 GEORGETOWN 75

Edmond Sumner scored four points and grabbed two rebounds during a 10-4 Xavier run late in the second half, and the Musketeers went on to defeat Big East rival Georgetown.

Trevon Bluiett finished with a game-high 24 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor including three of five behind the arc. J.P. Macura collected 20 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Musketeers. Sumner finished with a game-high seven assists. Rodney Pryor netted 23 points, as well as collecting four rebounds and two assists for the Hoyas.

Xavier connected on 36 of 49 free throws while the Hoyas finished 11 of 14 from the charity stripe.

The Musketeers improve to 14-5 and the Hoyas drop to 10-10.
