No. 12 Louisville blows out Clemson

Thursday’s Top 25 action. 

No. 12 LOUISVILLE 92 CLEMSON 60

Donovan Mitchell scored eight points as the Louisville Cardinals ended the first half on a 10-0 run to take the lead and eventually blow out ACC-rival Clemson.

Mitchell picked up 18 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Jaylen Johnson contributed a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds).

The Cardinals improve to 16-3 and the Tigers fall to 11-7. The Tigers have now lost five straight.

No. 3 UCLA 102 ARIZONA STATE 80

Issac Hamilton dropped 33 points for UCLA (19-1), and Lonzo Ball added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

No. 4 GONZAGA 88 SANTA CLARA 57

Przemek Karnowski led with 19 points and Nigel Williams-Goss had a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) for Gonzaga (18-0).

No. 11 OREGON 86 CAL 63

Jordan Bell gave Oregon (17-2) a 26-point, six-rebound, four-block, three-steal and two-assist performance. Oregon has now won 15 straight games and its last 37 at home, the second longest active home win streak in men’s Division I basketball.

No. 14 ARIZONA 73 USC 66

Lauri Markannen of Arizona (17-2) put up 23 points and eight rebounds. USC (16-4) saw Elijah Stewart score 20 points, adding four rebounds and four blocks. Arizona has won its last 11 games.

No. 23 SAINT MARY’S 62 PACIFIC 50

Calvin Hermanson‘s 17 points and Jock Landale‘s double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) propelled Saint Mary’s (16-2). T.J. Wallace led Pacific (8-12) with 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.

No. 25 MARYLAND 84 IOWA 76

Melo Trimble netted 20 points, along with five rebounds and five assists for Maryland (17-2). Iowa’s (11-9) Peter Jok scored 14 points and collected four rebounds, four steals and three assists.

OTHER:

VERMONT 81 UMASS-LOWELL 67

Anthony Lamb (Greece Athena) scored 14 points and hauled in 14 rebounds to pace Vermont.
