Wall leads Wizards to 13th straight home victory

WASHINGTON WIZARDS 104 MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES 101

WASHINGTON – John Wall led the Wizards (22-19) to their 13th straight win at the Verizon Center with 25 points and 13 assists. Washington has their longest winning streak at home since they won 15 straight in the 1988-89 season.

Washington led 66-51 at halftime on 53.3-percent shooting against a Memphis team ranked third in both opponent scoring average (99.1 points) and opponent field-goal percentage (43.5). The Wizards ended up converting 45 percent of their shots for the entire game.

Otto Porter Jr. added 25 points including a career-high six threes as well as seven rebounds. Markieff Morris chipped in with a double-double – 17 points and 12 boards.

Marc Gasol scored 28 points and dished out seven dimes for the Grizzlies (25-19). Mike Conley compiled 20 points and six assists. JaMychal Green earned a double-double – 15 points and 13 rebounds. Vince Carter dropped 12 points off the bench. Carter, who recently passed his ex-teammate Jason Kidd for fifth on the all-time 3-point list, sank three shots from downtown.

PHILADELPHIA 76ers 94 TORONTO RAPTORS 89

PHILADELPHIA – Joel Embiid paced the resurgent Sixers (14-26) to their seventh win in nine games with 26 points and nine rebounds. Ersan Ilyasova added 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting. DeMar DeRozan had 25 points and six assists for the Raptors (28-14). Kyle Lowry dropped 24 points and swiped five steals in his hometown.

CHARLOTTE HORNETS 107 PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS 85

CHARLOTTE – Kemba Walker dropped 23 points to go along with five assists and three steals to help the Hornets (21-21) snap a five-game losing streak. Damian Lillard had 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Blazers (18-26). C.J. McCollum (Lehigh) added 18 points and four steals.

NEW YORK KNICKS 117 BOSTON CELTICS 106

BOSTON – Derrick Rose compiled 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Knicks (19-24). Mindaugas Kuzminskas drew the start in the absence of the injured Kristaps Porzingis, and capitalized with 17 points and six boards. Willy Hernangomez added 17 points and 11 rebounds off the bench. Carmelo Anthony, who faces an uncertain future in New York, struggled to put up 13 points on 5-of-14 shooting. Isaiah Thomas dropped a game-high 39 points for the Celtics (26-16).

NEW ORLEANS PELICANS 118 ORLANDO MAGIC 98

NEW ORLEANS – Anthony Davis led the Pelicans (17-26) with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Langston Galloway (Saint Joseph’s) added 18 points off the bench. Aaron Gordon finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Magic (17-27).

HOUSTON ROCKETS 111 MILWAUKEE BUCKS 92

HOUSTON – Perennial MVP candidate James Harden went off for 38 points, eight assists and six rebounds to lead the Rockets (33-12). Eric Gordon came off the bench to score 25 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 32 points, 11 boards and six dimes for the Bucks (20-21).

DETROIT PISTONS 118 ATLANTA HAWKS 95

AUBURN HILLS – Reggie Jackson netted 26 points for the Pistons (20-24). Andre Drummond added 13 points and 17 rebounds. Every Detroit starter finished in double-figures. Paul Millsap had 21 points and eight boards for the Hawks (24-18).

INDIANA PACERS 106 SACRAMENTO KINGS 100

SACRAMENTO – DeMarcus Cousins (25 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists) posted a triple-double for the Kings (16-25). Rudy Gay added 21 points, but left in the third quarter due to a left leg injury. Sacramento fears that Gay tore his left Achilles tendon. Paul George had a team-high 24 points for the Pacers (22-19). Jeff Teague scored 22 points and dished out 11 dimes.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS 121 OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER 100

OAKLAND – Kevin Durant dropped a season-high 40 points for the Warriors (36-6) against his former team. Durant also grabbed 12 rebounds. Stephen Curry added 24 points and eight assists. Russell Westbrook earned his 21st triple-double of the season – 27 points, 15 boards and 13 assists for the Thunder (25-19).
