No. 17 Badgers avoid upset, extend streak

Tuesday night’s Top 25 action.

No. 17 WISCONSIN 68 MICHIGAN 64

Bronson Koenig connected on a pair of free throws with four seconds remaining to give the Wisconsin Badgers a four-point lead over the Michigan Wolverines and extend their home winning streak to 17 games.

Koenig netted 16 points and grabbed four rebounds for the Badgers. Zak Irvin put up 20 points, pulled down six rebounds and dished out three assists for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines, the top-ranked team with 14.2 personal fouls per game, committed 21 infractions against the Badgers.

The Badgers improve to 15-3 and the Wolverines drop to 12-7.

No. 5 KENTUCKY 88 MISSISSIPPI STATE 81

De’Aaron Fox finished with 21 points, five rebounds and five assists for Kentucky (16-2). Lamar Peters scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Mississippi State (12-5). Kentucky has won their last six games.

No. 6 BAYLOR 74 TEXAS 64

Johnathan Motley gave Baylor (17-1) a 32-point and 20-rebound performance in the win. Jarrett Allen collected 17 points and 10 rebounds for Texas (7-11).

No. 21 PURDUE 91 ILLINOIS 68

Caleb Swanigan‘s 22 points and 10 rebounds, all defensive, led Purdue (15-4) to the win.

OTHER:

BUFFALO 82 KENT STATE 69

Dontay Caruthers (East High) scored 11 points and grabbed two rebounds for Buffalo.
