Matthews three knocks off Bulls

Tuesday’s NBA action.

Dallas Mavericks 99  Chicago Bulls 98

CHICAGO – Harrison Barnes helped the Mavericks (13-27) win their second straight with 20 points and four rebounds.

With 11 seconds left in the game, Deron Williams found Wesley Matthews for a 25-foot three-ball which put the Mavericks up 99-98. Dwyane Wade missed the jumper in attempt to win the game.

Wade scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds. Jimmy Butler netted 24 points, handed out 12 assists and grabbed nine rebounds for the Bulls (21-21).

Miami Heat 109  Houston Rockets 103

MIAMI – Hassan Whiteside posted14 points and 15 rebounds as the Heat (12-30) snapped a four-game losing streak. Goran Dragic added a team-high 21 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. James Harden recorded his 13th triple-double of the season (40 points, 12 rebounds, 1o assists), but the Rockets (32-12) have lost three of four games.

Toronto Raptors 119  Brooklyn Nets 109

BROOKLYN – Corey Joseph (33) and DeMar DeRozan (36) combined for 69 points to pace the Raptors (28-13) to their fourth straight victory. Brooke Lopez scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds, but the Nets (8-33) lost their 11th consecutive.

San Antonio Spurs 122  Minnesota Timberwolves 114

SAN ANTONIO – Kawahi Leonard scored 30-plus points for the 11th time with 34 as the Spurs improved to 32-9. LaMarcus Aldridge added 29 points, four rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Karl-Anthony Towns netted 27 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, but the Timberwolves (14-28) dropped their second in a row.

Denver Nuggets 127  Los Angeles Lakers 121

LOS ANGELES – Nikola Jokic (29), Kenneth Faried (20) and Will Barton (26) combined for 75 points as the Nuggets (17-23) win their third straight. Lou Williams scored 24 points and handed out seven assists,  but the Lakers (15-31) dropped their fifth in a row.
