Wall’s fade away wins it for Wizards

Washington Wizards 101  Chicago Bulls 99

WASHINGTON – John Wall netted 26 points and dished out 14 assists as the Wizards (18-18) won their second straight.

With 47 seconds remaining, Wall knocked down an 18-foot jump shot to tie the game at 99. Otto Porter Jr. grabbed the defensive rebound at the other, and it was Wall again with five seconds left,  who nailed a 16-foot fade-away jumper to put the Wizards ahead by two.

Markieff Morris and Bradley Beal added 19 points each.

Toronto Raptors 114  Boston Celtics 106

TORONTO – DeMar DeRozan (41) and Kyle Lowry (24) combined for 65 points to help the Raptors (25-13) snap a two-game skid. Jonas Valanciunas recorded 18 points and grabbed a season-high 23 rebounds. Isaiah Thomas dropped 27 points as the Celtics (23-15) fell for the first time in five games.

Atlanta Hawks 117  Brooklyn Nets 97

BROOKLYN – Dennis Schroder paced the Hawks (22-16) to their sixth straight win with 19 points and 10 assists. Dwight Howard recorded a double-double as well with 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Houston Rockets 121  Charlotte Hornets 114

HOUSTON – James Harden posted his 14th triple-double of the season with 40 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists as the Rockets (31-9) extended their winning streak to eight. Kemba Walker scored 25 points and handed out 10 assists, but the Hornets (20-19) dropped their third straight. Treveon Graham (VCU) grabbed a rebound in four minutes played off the bench.

Milwaukee Bucks 109  San Antonio Spurs 107

SAN ANTONIO –  Michael Beasley registered 28 points in 34 minutes played off the bench as the Bucks (19-18) won their fourth out of six games. Jabari Parker added 22 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Kawai Leonard scored a team-high 30 points but the Spurs (30-8) lost their second in nine games.

Utah Jazz 100  Cleveland Cavaliers 92

UTAH – Gordon Hayward scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Jazz (24-16) improved to six and three in their last nine games. Rudy Gobert added a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. LeBron James scored 29 points, grabbed six rebounds, handed out five assists and collected four steals, but the Cavaliers (28-9) dropped their third in eight games.

Portland Trail Blazers 108  Los Angeles Lakers 97

LOS ANGELES – C.J. McCollum (Lehigh) collected 25 points as the Trail Blazers (17-23) defeated the Lakers (15-27) for the 10th consecutive time. Damian Lillard helped out with 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Sacramento Kings 100  Detroit Pistons 94

SACRAMENTO – DeMarcus Cousins scored a team-high 24 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out six assists to help the Kings (16-22) snap a three-game slide. Andre Drummond rejected a season-high seven blocks, but the Pistons fall to 18-22 on the season.

Golden State Warriors 107  Miami Heat 95

OAKLAND – Stephen Curry totaled 24 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists as the Warriors (33-6) won for the 13th time in their last 15 games. Hassan Whiteside owned the glass for the Heat (11-29) with 20 rebounds and added a team-high 28 points, but the Heat dropped their third in a row.
