BOSTON — Isaiah Thomas dropped a career-high 52 points to help the Celtics (20-14) rebound from a road loss to win their sixth of the last eight games. Thomas finished 9 of 13 from beyond the arc and sank all thirteen of his free throws. He becomes the fifth Celtic of all time to score 50 points.
Josh Richardson had 19 points, eight assists, six rebounds and four steals as the Heat (10-24) lost their fourth straight game.
New Orleans Pelicans 104 New York Knicks 92
NEW ORLEANS- Anthony Davis recorded a double-double with 23 points and 18 rebounds and pushed the Pelicans (14-21) to their fourth straight victory. Langston Galloway (Saint Joseph’s) had six points and two rebounds in 21 minutes played. Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points and 13 rebounds for the Knicks (16-16)
Indiana Pacers 111 Chicago Bulls 101
INDIANA — Paul George netted 32 points snapping the Pacers (16-18) four-game losing streak. George added four rebounds and two steals. Thaddeus Young dropped 17 points and grabbed six rebounds. The Bulls (16-17) had won two streak. Jimmy Butler dropped 25 points while collecting six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Washington Wizards 118 Brooklyn Nets 95
WASHINGTON — Marcin Gortat and John Wall scored 19 apiece to help the Wizards take their third straight game. Gortat added 13 rebounds and Wall added 14 assists. Andrew Nicholson (St. Bonaventure) played five minutes off the bench. The Nets (8-24) lost their second straight.
Houston Rockets 140 Los Angeles Clippers 116
HOUSTON — James Harden‘s seventh triple-double (30 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) of the season propelled the Rockets (25-9) to their third straight victory. Montrezl Harrell added 29 points off the bench. The Clippers (22-13) dropped their fifth straight game. DeAndre Jordan recorded a double-double (20 points, 13 rebounds).
Minnesota Timberwolves 116 Milwaukee Bucks 99
MINNESOTA — Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins combined for 55 points for the Timberwolves (11-22). Karl-Anthony Towns added a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Giannis Antetokunmpo had 25 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Bucks (15-16).
Atlanta Hawks 105 Detroit Pistons 98
ATLANTA — Paul Millsap scored 26 points, grabbed six rebounds, handed out five assists and collected two steals in the Hawks (17-16) second straight victory. Mike Muscala (Bucknell) came off the bench and had five points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. The Pistons (15-20) dropped their second straight with Jon Leuer‘s team-high 22 points.
San Antonio Spurs 110 Portland Trail Blazers 94
SAN ANTONIO — Tony Parker and Danny Green scored 18 apiece, and the Spurs (27-6) won for the ninth time in 10 games. Jordan Simmons added 19 points off the bench. The Trail Blazers dropped the seventh out of their last eight games. C.J. McCollum (Lehigh) scored 29.
Philadelphia 76ers 124 Denver Nuggets 122
DENVER — Joel Embiid and Ersan Ilyasova scored 23 points a piece to snap the 76ers (8-24) four-game losing streak. Ilyasova added 13 rebounds. Nikola Jokic recorded 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a losing effort.
Golden State Warriors 108 Dallas Mavericks 99
SAN FRANCISCO — Klay Thompson netted a team-high 29 points, and the Warriors (29-5) improved to 9-1 in their last 10 games. Kevin Durant recorded a triple-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Harrison Barnes netted 25 points, grabbed three rebounds and collected two steals for the Mavericks (10-24).
