As time expired in regulation, junior forward Dillon Brooks drained a contested three to give Oregon the upset victory over UCLA.
Brooks led Oregon with 23 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Junior center Thomas Welsh led UCLA with 20 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Oregon shot 44.8 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from three, slightly below their 77th ranked percentage of 46.9 from the field for the season. UCLA shot 53.1 percent from the field, which is below their top ranked 55 percent, and 44 percent from three.
The rebounding battle was nearly even, with Oregon getting the slight edge, 37-35. Oregon ranks 36th in the country, averaging about 40 rebounds per game, and UCLA ranks 31st, averaging around 41 per game.
Oregon improves to 12-2 and UCLA takes its first loss of the season at 13-1.

Josh Hart, a senior guard for Villanova, scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Wildcats (13-0), and junior forward Tre’Darius McCallum scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds for DePaul (7-7).

Senior guard London Perrantes was Virginia’s (11-1) top player with nine points, seven assists and four rebounds, and Louisville’s (11-2) top player was sophomore forward Deng Adel with eight points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Junior forward Justin Jackson topped UNC (12-2) with 28 points and senior forward Kennedy Meeks added a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Creighton’s (13-0) senior guard Maurice Watson Jr. led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Khadeen Carrington (27 points), Desi Rodriguez (24 points) and Angel Delgado (10 points and 10 rebounds) paced Seton Hall (10-3).

Freshman guard Carsen Edwards scored 19 points and sophomore forward Caleb Swanigan dropped 11 points and 10 rebounds for Purdue (12-2).

Sophomore guard Glynn Watson Jr. (26) and senior guard Tai Webster (21) led Nebraska (7-6) in points. Sophomore forward Ed Morrow added a double-double (12 points and 10 rebounds), and sophomore center Thomas Bryant (Bishop Kearney) led Indiana (10-3) with 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Xavier (11-2) was led by junior guard Trevon Bluiett with 22 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Junior forward Emmitt Holt (Webster Schroeder) scored four points and grabbed a rebound for Providence (10-4).

Xavier Rathan-Mayes paced FSU (13-1) with 23 points and seven rebounds. Wake Forest’s (9-4) sophomore guard Bryant Crawford had 16 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Sophomore forward Chemezie Metu led USC (14-0) with 19 points and eight rebounds, with sophomore guard Stephen Thompson Jr. (24 points) and sophomore forward Drew Eubanks (15 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double) combining to lead Oregon State (4-10).

Junior forward Gary Clark netted 11 points and six rebounds for Cincinnati (11-2), and senior guard Daniel Dingle chipped in 15 points and four rebounds for Temple (9-5). Freshman guard Quinton Rose (Bishop Kearney) had four points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal for Temple.

Senior forward VJ Beachem paced Notre Dame (11-2) with 18 points and five rebounds, and junior guard Nick Griffin topped Saint Peter’s (5-7) in points with 16.
