Westbrook collects 14th triple-double in Thunder victory

Friday night’s NBA action.

Oklahoma City Thunder 117  Boston Celtics 112

BOSTON- Russell Westbrook recorded his 14th triple-double (45 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists) of the season, his first triple-double against the Celtics (17-13)

With 3:01 left to go in the fourth quarter the Thunder (18-12) were in a full timeout down 104-102. Out of the timeout Westbrook got the ball and pulled up for a six foot two point shot to tie the game. Westbrook went on to score the Thunder’s final 15 points to close out the game.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Celtics, Isaiah Thomas finished with a double-double (34 points and 10 assists).

New Orleans Pelicans 91  Miami Heat 87

NEW ORLEANS- Anthony Davis‘s double-double (28 points and 22 rebounds) helped the Pelicans (11-21) to a victory Friday night. Langston Galloway (Saint Joseph’s) had 11 points in 29 minutes played off the bench. The Heat’s (10-21) Goran Dragic dropped 23 points, four rebounds and five assists.

Charlotte Hornets 103  Chicago Bulls 91

CHARLOTTE- Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum‘s 20 points improved the Hornets (17-12) winning streak to three games.  Jimmy Butler had 26 points, four rebounds and four assists for the Bulls (14-15) Friday night. Robin Lopez was ejected for a flagrant foul 2 in the fourth quarter.

Orlando Magic 109  Los Angeles Lakers 90

ORLANDO- Elfred Payton led the way for the Magic (14-18) off the bench with 25 points and nine assists. The Lakers (11-22) Jordan Clarkson had 18 points and five rebounds off the bench.

Cleveland Cavaliers 119  Brooklyn Nets 99

CLEVELAND- The Cavaliers (22-6) are 9-1 in their 10 games including Friday night’s win with LeBron James who had 19 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals. The Cavaliers had seven guys in double figures.  Brook Lopez dropped 16 points for the Nets (7-22) in their fifth straight loss.

Golden State Warriors 119  Detroit Pistons 113

DETROIT- The Warriors improve to 27-4 on the season winning their seventh straight win. Kevin Durant scored 32 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Stephen Curry added 25 points and eight assists. The Piston’s Kentavious Caldwell-Pope finished with 25 points.

Milwaukee Bucks 123  Washington Wizards 96

MILWAUKEE- Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a career high 39 points for the Bucks (14-14). Antetokounmpo would add eight rebounds and six assist to his career night. The Wizards (13-16)  Otto Porter Jr. and John Wall would have 18 points a piece. Andrew Nicholson (St. Bonaventure) grabbed three rebounds in eight minutes played off the bench.

Memphis Grizzlies 115  Houston Rockets 109

MEMPHIS- The Grizzlies (20-12) extended their winning streak to two games with Mike Conley‘s 24 points, three rebounds and five assists Friday night. Troy Daniels (VCU) came off the bench and had five points in 10 minutes played. Ryan Anderson dropped 31 points and seven rebounds for the Rockets (22-9) Friday night.

Sacramento Kings 109  Minnesota Timberwolves 105

MINNESOTA- The Kings (13-17) improved their winning streak to three games. Leading the way was DeMarcus Cousins with his team high 32 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. The Timberwolves (9-20) snapped a two-game winning streak. Zach LaVine had 40 points and six rebounds.

Atlanta Hawks 109  Denver Nuggets 108

DENVER- The Hawks (15-15) fourth quarter run helped them Friday night improve to .500 on the season. Dennis Schroder‘s 27 points, six rebounds and five assists sparked the late run. Mike Muscala (Bucknell) had 13 rebounds, three rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes played. The Nuggets (12-18) dropped their second straight with Danielle Gallinari’s 21 points and 11 rebounds. Jameer Nelson (Saint Joseph’s) had eight points and two assists in 21 minutes played.

Toronto Raptors 104  Utah Jazz 98

UTAH- The Raptors (21-8) win their third straight and are 7-1 in their last eight games with Kyle Lowry‘s season high 36 points. He added five assists, four rebounds and two steals to his night. The Jazz’s Gordon Hayward finished with 23 points and five assists.

Phoenix Suns 123  Philadelphia 76ers 116 

PHOENIX- The Suns (9-21) snapped a four-game losing streak Friday night with six guys in double figures. Eric Bledsoe scored 24 points and dished out 11 assists. The 76ers (7-22) dropped their second straight with Joel Embiid‘s 27 points and seven rebounds.

San Antonio Spurs 110  Portland Trail Blazers 90

PORTLAND- The Spurs (24-6) are 6-1 in their last seven games. Kawhi Leonard‘s 33 points fueled the Spurs Friday night. The Trail Blazer’s (13-19) Damian Lillard left the game in the fourth quarter after rolling his ankle, time table unknown at this point. Lillard and C.J. McCollum (Lehigh) finished with 16 points a piece.

Dallas Mavericks 90  Los Angeles Clippers 88

LOS ANGELES- Harrison Barnes hit a late jumper to lead the Mavericks (9-21) to their second straight win. Barnes finished with 24 points and six rebounds.  Jamal Crawford had 26 points and six assists for the Clippers (22-9).
