No. 5 Duke shoots way to win over Tennessee State

No. 5 DUKE 65 TENNESSEE STATE 55

A three from junior guard Grayson Allen and six points from sophomore guard Luke Kennard sparked a 11-0 run for Duke during the second half, giving them a lead they did not give up in the win.

Duke went 19-51 (37.3 percent) from the field and 8-24(33.3 percent) from three. Tennessee went 22-51 (43.1 percent) from the field and 2-16 (12.5 percent) from three.

Kennard led Duke with 24 points and three rebounds, with freshman forward Jayson Tatum adding 14 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard Tahjere McCall led Tennessee State with 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Duke improves to 11-1 and Tennessee State drops to 8-3.

No. 15 PURDUE 82 WESTERN ILLINOIS 50

Caleb Swanigan, a sophomore forward for Purdue (10-2), topped the team with 21 points and 21 rebounds.

No. 16 INDIANA 103 DELAWARE STATE 56

Junior guard James Blackmon Jr. led Indiana (9-2) with 18 points and three assists, and sophomore center Thomas Bryant (Bishop Kearney) added 14 points, six rebounds and four assists.

No. 21 FLORIDA STATE 76 SAMFORD 68

Sophomore guard Terance Mann scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Florida State (12-1), and freshman guard Josh Sharkey was Samford’s (7-4) top performer with 10 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals.

No. 23 USC 79 CORNELL 67

Jordan McLaughlin, a junior guard for USC (10-0), netted 16 points, along with nine assists and three rebounds, and sophomore forward Stone Gettings put up 22 points and six rebounds for Cornell (2-6).

No. 25 NOTRE DAME 77 COLGATE 62

Notre Dame’s (10-2) top performer was senior forward V.J. Beachem with 20 points, three steals, two assists and two rebounds, and Colgate (2-10) saw freshman forward Will Rayman lead them with 18 points.
