Los Angeles Lakers 100 Philadelphia 76ers 89
PHILADELPHIA — The 76ers (6-20) honored the great Allen Iverson Friday night as he received his Hall of Fame jacket from the great 76er Julius “Dr. J” Irving.
The 76ers came out flat as the Lakers (11-18) started the game with a 13-0 run. They never trailed once in the game. There hot start put the 76ers away early. This win would snap an eight game losing streak for the Lakers.
The Lakers had five guys in double figures one being Julius Randle with 25 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Lou Williams came off the bench and dropped 18 points, dished out three assists and took away four steals.
The 76ers also earned five players in double figures. Joel Embiid‘s team high 15 points led the way. Jahlil Okafor and Robert Covington added 14 points a piece.
Los Angeles Clippers 102 Miami Heat 98
MIAMI — Blake Griffin paced the Clippers to their fourth straight victory with 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Goran Dragic led the way for the Heat (9-18) with 21 points and 11 assists.
Washington Wizards 122 Detroit Pistons 108
WASHINGTON — John Wall‘s double-double (29 points and 11 assists) led the way for the Wizards, who are 4-1 in their last five, Friday night. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope topped the Pistons with 24 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Orlando Magic 118 Brooklyn Nets 111
ORLANDO- Coming off a home loss to the Clippers, the Magic (12-16) got back on the winning side with Evan Fournier and Nikola Vucevic‘s 21 points. The Nets (7-18), are 2-6 in their last eight games, were led by Brooke Lopez with 22 points and six rebounds.
Boston Celtics 96 Charlotte Hornets 88
BOSTON- The Celtics (14-12) snap a three game losing streak with Isaiah Thomas‘s 26 points Friday night. The Hornets (14-13) drop their fourth straight. Brian Roberts (Dayton) had five points in 16 minutes played.
Atlanta Hawks 125 Toronto Raptors 121
TORONTO- The Hawks (13-13) are 3-1 in their last four games with six guys in double figures Friday night. Dwight Howard led the way with a double-double (27 points and 15 rebounds). Mike Muscala (Bucknell) had six points, four rebounds and five assists in 18 minutes played off the bench. The loss snapped a five -game winning streak for Toronto. DeMar DeRozan paced the Raptors with 34 points.
Milwaukee Bucks 95 Chicago Bulls 69
CHICAGO- Giannis Antetokounmpo accounted for 22 points, seven rebounds, 11 assists and three steals, and the Bucks (13-12) defeated the Bulls (13-13) for a second straight game. Dwyane Wade led the Bulls with 12 points scored their lowest amount this season.
Sacramento Kings 96 Memphis Grizzlies 92
MEMPHIS- Even with losing DeMarcus Cousins to fouling out the Kings (10-16) got back on the winning side. Cousins led the team with 22 points and nine rebounds. Marc Gasol led the way for the Grizzlies (18-10) with 20 points, six rebounds and four assists. Troy Daniels (VCU) had 13 points in 28 minutes played.
Houston Rockets 122 New Orleans Pelicans 100
HOUSTON- The Rockets (20-7) set a regular season record with 24 made three pointers Friday night. James Harden, who passed Hakeem Olajuwon for the most triple-doubles in franchise history, and Eric Gordon knocked down 13 of the 24 threes with 29 points a piece. Anthony Davis had 19 points, five rebounds and three assist for the Pelicans (9-19). Langston Galloway (Saint Joseph’s) had seven points and three assists in 21 minutes played off the bench.
Utah Jazz 103 Dallas Mavericks 100
UTAH- Rodney Hood knocked down a three-pointer with 0.8 seconds remaining, and the Jazz (17-10) held off the Mavericks. Hood finished with 15 points. Harrison Barnes had 21 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Mavericks (6-20).
