No. 1 Nova takes Big 5 battle with Temple

Tuesday’s Top 25 action.

No. 1 VILLANOVA 78 TEMPLE 57

A 9-0 run to end the first half, highlighted by senior guard Josh Hart scoring the final six points, helped Villanova extend a lead they did not relinquish.

Hart led Villanova with 26 points, three steals and three assists. Temple’s senior guard Daniel Dingle was the team’s top performer with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists. Quinton Rose (Bishop Kearney), a freshman guard for Temple, scored seven points, along with one rebound and one steal in 23 minutes.

Nova remains undefeated at 11-0 while Temple drops to 7-4.

No. 22 OREGON 81 MONTANA 67

Senior forward Chris Boucher dropped a double-double (23 points, 19 rebounds) for Oregon (9-2), and sophomore guard Ahmaad Rorie topped Montana (3-8) with 19 points, five rebounds and three assists.

No. 25 CINCINNATI 96 TEXAS SOUTHERN 58

Freshman guard Jarron Cumberland paced Cincy (8-2) with 18 points and six rebounds while freshman guard Demontre Jefferson scored 13 points and added five assists for Texas Southern (4-6).
