Wade wins bet, game versus Cavaliers

Friday night’s NBA action.

New York Knicks 118  Minnesota Timberwolves 114

NEW YORK- The Knicks (10-9) picked up their second win in a row against the Timberwolves (5-14). Carmelo Anthony had 29 points, five rebounds and three assists.  Kyle O’Quinn added a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds.  Zach LaVine led the way for he Timberwolves with 23 points. Karl-Anthony Towns added 20 points and eight rebounds.

Orlando Magic 105  Philadelphia 76ers 88

PHILADELPHIA- Coming off a road loss to the Grizzlies, the Magic (8-12) pulled out a victory Friday night led by Aaron Gordon who dropped 20 points. Three players all totaled 16 points each, Serge Ibaka, Evan Fournier, and Jeff Green. Joel Embiid led the way for the 76ers (4-15) with a double-double dropping 25 points and grabbing 10 boards. Jahlil Okafor added 16 points and 13 rebounds off the bench.

Boston Celtics 97  Sacramento Kings 92

BOSTON- The Celtics (11-8) picked up a home victory Friday night led by Al Horford with 26 points, eight rebounds and six blocks. Isaiah Thomas added 20 points and seven assists. The Kings (7-12) were led by DeMarcus Cousins with 28 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Rudy Gay added 13 points and eight rebounds.

Toronto Raptors 113  Los Angeles Lakers 80

TORONTO-  The Raptors (13-6) picked up their fifth win in a row Friday night led by Kyle Lowry with 24 points and seven assists. Norman Powell and DeMar DeRozan added 16 points. The Lakers (10-11) were led by Brandon Ingram with 17 points and six rebounds. Jordan Clarkson added 14 points and Louis Williams with 13 points both came off the bench.

Chicago Bulls 111 Cleveland Cavaliers 105

CHICAGO- The Bulls (11-7) picked up a home victory Friday night versus the defending champions. Led by Jimmy Butler who had 26 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals. Dwyane Wade added 24 points and five rebounds. Taj Gibson added a double-double with 23 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. The Cavaliers (13-5) were led by LeBron James, who had to wear a Chicago Cubs uniform into the stadium before the game due to the owed debt of friend and former teammate Wade. James had 27 points, 13 assists and five rebounds. Kyrie Irving added 20 points and eight assists.

Los Angeles Clippers 114  New Orleans Pelicans 96

NEW ORLEANS-  Finishing their five-game road trip, the Clippers (16-5) were led by Blake Griffin who had a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Chris Paul added a double-double as well with 17 points and 13 assists. Anthony Davis led the way for the Pelicans (7-13) with 21 points, six rebound and four assists. E’Twaun Moore added 14 points off the bench. Langston Galloway (Saint Joesph’s) added four points and three rebounds in 19 minutes of play.

Detroit Pistons 121  Atlanta Hawks 85

ATLANTA- The Pistons (11-10) picked up their third win a row on Friday night led by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who had 23 points and eight rebounds. Andre Drummond added a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Tobias Harris had 18 points and seven rebounds. Dennis Schroder led the way for the Hawks (10-10) with 17 points and 11 assists. Mike Muscala (Bucknell) and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 11 points off the bench. DeAndre Bembry (Saint Joseph’s) did not dress for Friday night’s matchup.

San Antonio Spurs 107  Washington Wizards 105

SAN ANTONIO-  The Spurs (16-4) are 11-1 in their last 12 games, with the victory Friday night they were led by Kawhi Leonard with 23 points and five rebounds. Paul Gasol added a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge also dropped 19 points and grabbed five rebounds. The Wizards (6-12) were led by Bradley Beal with 23 points and going 5-5 from beyond the arc. Marcin Gortat added 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Andrew Nicholson (St. Bonaventure) did not play in Friday night’s matchup.

Houston Rockets Denver Nuggets

DENVER- The Rockets (13-7) are 7-2 in their last nine games. In Friday night’s victory they were led by James Harden with 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon both added 18 points a piece. Wilson Chandler led the Nuggets (7-11) off the bench with 24 points and four rebounds. Will Barton added 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Jameer Nelson (Saint Joesph’s) came off the bench with five points and two assists in 19 minutes of action.
