No. 8 Gonzaga remains undefeated

Rundown of Thursday’s Top 25 action. 

No. 8 GONZAGA 97 MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE 63

Freshman forward Zach Collins fell a rebound short of a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds to lead Gonzaga. Mississippi Valley State’s top performer was senior guard Rashaan Surles, who had 13 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Gonzaga stays undefeated at 7-0, while Mississippi Valley State remains winless at 0-9.

CINCINNATI 55  No. 19 IOWA STATE 54 in OT

Double-doubles from junior forward Kyle Washington (13 points, 10 rebounds) and junior forward Gary Clark (11 points, 10 rebounds) led Cincinnati in the upset. Iowa State’s top player was senior guard Matt Thomas with13 points and seven rebounds. Cincinnati jumps to 6-1, while Iowa State sits at 5-2.

No. 20 SOUTH CAROLINA 68 VERMONT 50

South Carolina’s top performer was sophomore guard PJ Dozier with 21 points, six rebounds and three steals. Freshman forward Anthony Lamb (Greece Athena) scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds to lead Vermont. South Carolina improves to 7-0 and Vermont falls to 6-3.

No. 24 FLORIDA 91 NORTH FLORIDA 60

Chris Chiozza led the Gators with 16 points, nine assists, four rebounds and three steals. Senior guard Dallas Moore paced North Florida with 31 points, three rebounds and two steals. Florida moves to 7-1 and North Florida drops to 3-6.
