PHILADELPHIA – Kyrie Irving took over in the fourth with 19 points en route to a season-high 39 to give Cleveland (13-2) a comeback victory. LeBron James posted yet another triple-double – 26 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. Kevin Love chipped in with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Joel Embiid led Philadelphia (4-13) with 22 points. “The Process” also had nine rebounds, four assists, and three blocks.
DENVER NUGGETS 120 PHOENIX SUNS 114
PHOENIX – Wilson Chandler paced Denver (7-10) with 25 points and eight rebounds to give them the road victory. Jameer Nelson (St. Joseph’s) added 21 points and three assists. Eric Bledsoe led Phoenix (5-13) with 35 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Devin Booker chipped in with 30 points.
SACRAMENTO KINGS 122 BROOKLYN NETS 105
BROOKLYN – DeMarcus Cousins poured in 37 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help Sacramento (7-10) snap a seven-game losing streak on the Nets’ home floor. The last time the Kings won on their court was on December 18, 2007, back when the Nets were still in New Jersey, and back when Jason Kidd threw alley-oops to Vince Carter on almost a nightly-basis! Sean Kilpatrick led Brooklyn (4-12) with 22 points. Brook Lopez added 17 points and seven boards.
INDIANA PACERS 91 LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 70
INDIANAPOLIS – Myles Turner led Indiana (9-9) with 17 points and 12 rebounds to help a Paul George-less squad pull off the victory. Glenn Robinson III chipped in with 17 points of his own. Blake Griffin led Los Angeles (14-4) with 16 points.
MILWAUKEE BUCKS 104 ORLANDO MAGIC 96
ORLANDO – Giannis Antetokounmpo paced Milwaukee (7-8) with 18 points and nine rebounds. John Henson was the high-man for the Bucks with 20 points. Orlando (6-11) guard Evan Fournier led all scorers with 27 points. Nikola Vucevic added 17 points and 16 boards.
DALLAS MAVERICKS 91 NEW ORLEANS PELICANS 81
DALLAS – Harrison Barnes put up 23 points and hauled in seven rebounds to help Dallas (3-13) end an eight-game losing streak. Wesley Matthews added 21 points. New Orleans’ (6-12) star Anthony Davis dropped 36 points and grabbed 13 boards. Langston Galloway (Saint Joseph’s) scored four points and handed out an assist for New Orleans.
HOUSTON ROCKETS 130 PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS 114
PORTLAND – James Harden put up 38 points and dished out 10 assists to lead Houston (11-6) to their fifth victory in six games. The four-time all-star guard has put up a double-double in seven consecutive games. Eric Gordon scored 26 points off the bench, and Clint Capela added 21 points and nine rebounds. C.J. McCollum (Lehigh) led Portland (9-10) with 28 points and seven assists. Damian Lillard finished with 27 points and five dimes.
LOS ANGELES LAKERS 109 ATLANTA HAWKS 94
LOS ANGELES – Louis Williams came off the bench to lead Los Angeles (9-9) to a season sweep over Atlanta (10-7) with 21 points. Jordan Clarkson and Nick Young chipped in with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Dwight Howard, a former Laker, shook off some boos and finished with 19 points and nine boards for the Hawks. Howard spurned L.A. for Houston in the 2013 offseason after one disastrous season alongside the iconic Kobe Bryant. Mike Muscala (Bucknell) added 10 points and five rebounds off the pine.
