SHERRILL, N.Y. — The Syracuse Salt Cats won their third straight game with a convincing 6-1 defeat of the Sherrill Silversmiths in New York Collegiate Baseball League action Wednesday at Noyes Park.
Following two walks to the first three batters, Johnny Knight IV (Walsh University) put Syracuse on the board early in the top of the first with an RBI single. Syracuse had a lead they would not surrender.
Sean Pisik (Le Moyne College) dominated on the mound against the Silversmiths striking out seven over six innings. The 5-foot-11 Syracuse native only allowed four hits and limited Sherrill to one run.
Daniel DePaoli (Hamilton College) suffered his second loss of the season. He allowed three runs in five innings while issuing five walks.
Justin Clark (Lesley University) led the Salt Cats offensively with a 3-for-4 performance including a double and three runs scored. Michael Villa (Lackawanna College) led Sherrill with two hits, two stolen bases and a run in the losing effort.
Syracuse (9-6) takes a two-day break before returning to Sherrill (4-11) on Saturday.
The Silversmiths look to end their three-game losing streak against the Rome Generals (6-13) Thursday at noon.
