1. Jonquel Jones (George Washington) – It does not look like #24 GW is going to lose anytime soon and Jonquel Jones, the “Double-Double Machine,” is prepared to lead them to the promise land. The Naismith Trophy Candidate posted 22 points and a colossal 17 rebounds in the Colonials mid-week victory over Duquesne. Over the weekend looking to lead GW to their 16th straight win, Jones recorded her seventh straight double-double with a 12-point, 16-rebound performance.
Early Prediction: Atlantic 10 Player of the Year
2. Andrea Hoover (Dayton) – The Flyers are starting to catch their stride and Andrea Hoover is a big reason for it. In Dayton’s mid-week domination of Rhode Island, Hoover added 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Over the weekend, Hoover poured in a team-high 24 points in the Flyers 19 point win at VCU.
3. Ally Malott (Dayton) – The second part of Dayton’s “Dynamic Duo,” Malott added a 10 point mid-week performance in the Flyers dominant win over Rhode Island. The Senior Class Award Winner nominee scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out two assists and swatted away two shots in Dayton’s road victory over VCU.
4. Taylor Brown (George Mason) – As defenses are starting to key in on Brown, her scoring has dropped off significantly. In an early week loss at Richmond, Brown scored a season-low 10 points. In Mason’s mid-week game, Brown nailed a three-pointer in the first half which made her just the 18th player in the program’s history to score 1,000 points, the fastest to do so. In the Patriots loss, Brown would only score 10 points again.
5. Charise Wilson (Rhode Island) – Wilson, the freshman sensation, had another great week of play. In a blowout loss, mid-week to Dayton, Wilson poured in 15 of Rhody’s 33 total points, also adding four rebounds. Over the weekend, the Rams were able to garner a road win against George Mason thanks to Wilson’s game-high 20 points.
6. Natasha Cloud (St. Joseph’s) – The Hawks had a much needed break this week, only playing one game, a victory at home over St. Bonaventure. Cloud, the “Queen of Assisting,” played nearly the whole game, tailing six points, seven assists, and two blocks.
7. Kim Pierre-Louis (UMASS) – Kim Pierre-Louis and UMASS keep fighting day-in and day-out to keep pace. In a mid-week loss to Fordham, Pierre-Louis would score a team-high 13 points, while in another loss this weekend, the prolific scorer only added six points in 24 minutes played.
8. Katie Healy (St. Bonaventure) – Right now it seems Katie Healy is the only viable scoring weapon for the Bonnies, who are now losers of six straight. In a mid-week home loss to VCU, Healy poured in 17 points while adding seven rebounds and four assists, leading the Bonnies in all three aforementioned statistical categories. In a “must-win” game on the road, Healy would again lead the Bonnies in both points and rebounds (15 points, nine rebounds).
9. Samantha Clark (Fordham) – It was a rough week for Samantha Clark, tallying no points and only four rebounds in a mid-week win on Kids Day over UMASS and only totaling five points and seven rebounds in a tough road loss to Saint Louis.
10. Hannah Early (Davidson) – The Wildcats and Hannah Early were not able to build on their first-ever Atlantic 10 win, suffering two losses this week. In Davidson’s mid-week loss to Richmond, Early chipped in 11 points and four rebounds; over the weekend in a blowout loss to Duquesne, Early recorded her 19th game of the season scoring in double-figures, adding 10 points and three rebounds.
