Cloud, Healy, and the #A10WBB Slate

A look at the opening day of conference play for #A10WBB, which included a gritty win in Olean, a major comeback in Kingston, and an assist show in Philly.

St. Bonaventure 65, UMASS 53
It was a gritty win for the Bonnies in their conference home opener. The dynamic duo of Hannah Little (19 points, 10 rebounds, 11-11 FT) and Katie Healy (25 points, nine rebounds, and five assists) guided St. Bonaventure offensively, but it would be the Bonnies’ defense that would guide them to victory, holding Kim Pierre-Louis to seven points.

Rhode Island 62, Duquesne 61
A tale of two halves played out inside the Ryan Center as the Rams, who trailed by 10 at the half and 16 with 13:55 remaining the game, fought all the way to garner a victory in their conference opener. Charise Wilson led Rhode Island with 17 points and six rebounds, while Amadea Szamosi recorded a double-double for the Dukes.

St. Joseph’s 63, VCU 46
Guided by Cliff Paul’s Philadelphia counterpart, Natasha Cloud (10 assists), the Hawks held VCU to 28.4 percent shooting inside Hagan Arena. Sarah Fairbanks added 15 points and six rebounds, while Isis Thorpe scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds for the Rams.
