Antoine Mason, the nation’s leading scorer, led Niagara with 19 points. The Red Foxes held Mason to an 8-for-23 shooting performance.

A back-and-forth first half included 13 lead changes and three ties, but Marist outscored 16-9 over the final five-and-a-half minutes of the first half to take a 38-35 lead at the intermission.

The Red Foxes then came out hot in the second half. Junior guard T.J. Curry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) sank a three-pointer on the first possession of the half. The Red Foxes then used an 8-0 run to build their lead to 12, and outscored the Purple Eagles 27-8 over the first nine-and-a-half minutes of the half to extend their advantage to a game high of 22. Marist never led by less than the final margin of 14 in the last 13 minutes of the game.

At halftime, former Marist players, coaches, administrators and managers encompassing the 54-year varsity history of the program were recognized. An alumni game and skills competition at McCann Arena preceded the Niagara-Marist game from 2-4 p.m.

Marist is now 8-14 overall and 5-7 in the MAAC after having won its second straight; Niagara fell to 6-17 overall and 3-9 in the MAAC.
