In today’s show, host Dave Holcomb covers all the top news from around major league baseball hitting upon all six divisions. To start, the biggest series of all-time is taking place in Pittsburgh. Not really, this isn’t ESPN, but in all seriousness, it’s a really big series. The Pirates come into the five game set 1.5 games behind the Cardinals, and with the Buccos winning Monday, the race has just gotten tighter. Next, Tampa Bay returns to Boston to makeup last week’s rainout. The Rays squeaked out a victory, but not without controversy.
In the second segment, Dave is happy to cover Wahoo Maniacs again. For those of you that don’t know what team that is, go watch Major League. But wait until after the podcast. It’s the Cleveland Indians, and don’t look now, but the team is threatening to climb out of the cellar. Actually perhaps even into first place if their five game winning streak continues.
Back to the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers have decided to try a new promotion, and no it’s not bring back Bernie Mac. Find out what it is, hear about a Ryan Braun jersey incident, and fighting, sinking Phils in the second segment.
Finally in the third segment, the show brings to you the ‘First to Third’ segment. Unfortunately, we have to cover A-Rod… again. Will this guy ever be on the field again? Another guy in LA is leaving the field too. Oakland is tied with the best record in the AL, and Arizona could slip below .500, but remain in second place. All that and more in Around the Diamond with Dave Holcomb.
